dude is gonna get paid. his 3 year salary growth will be astounding.
Anytime.Ah right! Thank you for that.
Yep but UCLA is a dumpster fire of an athletic department. Hope it works out for him but seems like he could have done better, maybe next year if not nowdude is gonna get paid. his 3 year salary growth will be astounding.
He gets to live in Westwood, get paid 10's of millions of dollars, and its 80 degrees all day every day. IEven if he flames out he will be fine.Yep but UCLA is a dumpster fire of an athletic department. Hope it works out fir him but seems like he could have done better, maybe next year if not now

Yes and no. If Red was about to make the NCAA tournament and agreed to become the coach at--insert rival--are you telling me we would just let him finish it out? C'mon. Moreover, what if a deservedly-distracted Lane preparing for the LSU gig and Ole Miss at the same time... gets blown out in the CFP game at home? Then the message is that even the great LSU coach Lane Kiffing could not win a home playoff game at Ole Miss. Hoewver, if Ole Miss loses in the CFP with the new guy, they get an asterisk for the distraction that Lane caused. If what I'm hearing is true, that Lane wanted to coach Ole Miss in the playoff but Ole Miss said no, then I have no ill will at all towards Lane. He was handling it honorably.
Westwood > Solvay
We messsd up the Chesney situation last year. Although he was destined for a big time job. The AD of UCLA was at BC . Wouldn’t be surprised if someone east made the push for this.
Bob will do well there
I understand what you’re saying, but I disagree. This is part of Lane’s legacy and I think it would be very unlikely that he wouldn’t be completely dialed in.Yes and no. Agree. This is not a great fit for ucla. East coast guy. Program that doesn’t invest. He should have waited for something in his core region. I bet this doesn’t go well.Seems like a bad fit. You might see UVA, Maryland, UNC open up next year. I would have stayed for that. Unless the cupboard is at JMU.

He couldn't be 100% dialed in. Looking for a place to live in Baton Rouge. Portal preparation for LSU. Maybe 80% Lane > their current coach. But the downside risk is too great...I understand what you’re saying, but I disagree. This is part of Lane’s legacy and I think it would be very unlikely that he wouldn’t be completely dialed in.
As an aside, they shouldn’t even allow coaches to take new jobs until the playoff is over. It degrades the entire sport.
Not many solid West guys do great coming East either.I cannot believe a solid NE guy is heading to the West Coast.
Dont see this going well for him at all.

Agree. I am shocked he took this. I don't see it being a good fit at all on the west coast. Not just saying that to troll elimu either.Agree. This is not a great fit for ucla. East coast guy. This. Especially without Allen, OG2, Pena, Barron, Wax who all would have leftNo we didn't. Matt Sluka wasn't winning us 10 games.
Sluka was Chesney’s backup qb at JMU, and JMU lost a ton of players in the Cignetti transition. Whatever individuals think about Fran, Chesney ( who was after all the candidate who came out of the search process) would have been a good hire.No we didn't. Matt Sluka wasn't winning us 10 games.
