2025-26 Coaching Carousel

I love how Paul "Slimbaum" can go on CNN and belittle Lane, when he has helped build the SEC machine as much as anyone into the craziness it is now.

How many of their programs are paying coaches not to coach at the moment. At the top of my head, Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky.

1/3rd of the coaches where fired in the SEC. $137 Million in buyouts this year.
I didn't do much research as to who or how much each just read that in an article and was shocked.

Seems like a bad fit. You might see UVA, Maryland, UNC open up next year. I would have stayed for that. Unless the cupboard is at JMU.

UVA will be coming off a 10 win season and ACC championship game appearance, Mike Locksley just got an extension. Those coaches aren’t going anywhere next year.
About the only way I see us as having an opening is if we have another really great season, Dabo leaves Clemson, and Elliott is hired to replace him. Of course he could leave, I just don't think it's likely he'd leave us for any school other than Clemson.

I think, at JMU, he inherited a cupboard that was more full than that of his opponents.

I think, at UCLA, he will not enjoy such a luxury.
Cignetti took most of the eligible JMU talent to IU with him. Chesney built from there. But obviously being in VA, so near Maryland/DC and NC, and with the JMU recent history made that roster building much easier than building a roster at UCLA that can compete at the top of the BT.

yeah Cig took the top 15ish players with him. Chesney was left some nice pieces but he worked the protal well and being in VA area really helped his recruiting.
I wish him the best at UCLA but I don't see it ending well.

I am going full Kaiser here, the board hates the Chesney to UCLA hire, destined for greatness Bob will be at UCLA. I do think it will take some time though
