I wouldn't be suprised if Clark Lea moves on to a Florida based school.
Vandy its is tough venue (tougher than SU)...
A great year is awesome, I just don't see it as being sustainable hence I see him moving on if there's an opportunity.

It's not sustainable in the SEC. If Vandy were in the ACC, then its wealthy alums finally donating for football in a big way could keep the program near the top of the league for years as long as they keep the right coach. Lea is that right coach for Vandy.

Why is it not sustainable ib the SEC? Because in CFB, larger state flagship and land/or land grants schools located near top level recruiting have much easier paths to building and maintaining top programs that do almost all private schools (ND and SC and then Miami being the main exceptions to the rule). The SEC has 15 state flagship and/or land grant schools and then also has Vandy.

So when will Lea leave? Maybe not until Vnady starts going back down again. Until then, his love of the city and school, both of which are tied to him generationally, may keep him there.

Why not just get a recent top 15 contract and be happy for as long as possible? You get hired by Florida... and half the fan base wished they hired Kiffin or the guy from Washington... so they almost want you to fail. Florida State? Same thing. If it is working where you are and fairly compensated, why leave???

I know Clark and would be shocked if he ever leaves the Vandy HC job of his own volition. He is where he belongs and smart enough to understand that.

They need to fire Alford. He gave Norvell a long-term contract, big raise, and big buyout for two good seasons. Alford is again proving he has poor business decision skills. The lawsuit to leave the ACC, the Norvell and staff buyouts (total approx. $72MM), the major infrastructure commitments that FSU has not funded but borrowed for. Basically, he has mortgages the FSU AD future for a mediocrity. Sure, two really good seasons, but then everything else has been a failure.

Sure, Norvell has to go, but FSU cannot afford to can him. They will likely do so anyway. Then starts the clamoring for the SEC or B1G invite when neither wants him as a partner.

Alford should be canned because he sucks at his job more than Norvell. Then can Norvell.
This is exactly what some fans are clamoring for here. Extend Fran and show him the money. You take a chance when you do it and the consequences are frightening if it doesn’t work out.

SU didn't extend Fran, which is the difference between a pro, Wildhack, and a novice, Alford.

You have nothing to worry about.

Hmmn. It wasn't too long ago where Wildhack, as a greenhorn AD, and prior to ever hiring anyone relative to the revenue sports, extended Dino. So, if that's the difference between a pro and a novice...Wildhack certainly learned his lesson.
