2025-26 NBA

I feel like there’s a pretty reasonable chance (as much as there can be) that wemby is going to be the greatest player of all time
He is truly something we've never seen before, which is saying a lot. I do think he has that potential but obviously an extremely long ways to go. Feels like it'll be a huge what if if for some reason he doesn't end up a top 30ish player all time.

There is always a guy we haven’t seen before. It started with George Miken. Then there were Wilt, Jabbar, Ralph, Ming, Bradley. Giannis, etc. It’s the teaching of all basketball skills at an early age, rather than just big man skills, as well as early overall physical training and nutrition, that is changing the skill levels of these physical anomalies. Still, he is amazing.

Obviously it's going a little overboard to say the guy is going to be the greatest player who ever lived, but its fun! and i think anyone can see the path there.

But if you want a more realistic (and also kinda insane statement), at this point I do think the median outcome for Wemby is the guy is like one of the 10 or 15 best players ever.

I have to imagine this is as close as it gets to how people felt watching Wilt Chamberlain in his first NBA years.

Yeah, I think that is basically the expectation at this point but man, the accolades you have to rack up to actually get there are so crazy.

I watched less NBA last year than I have in my life. Probably won’t watch a lot this year except for good prime time games especially if Wemby is on. I’ll watch playoffs when it truly matters.

Hell of a start to the year though. I’m more intrigued now than I’ve been in years with this gambling stuff.

Billups is absolutely screwed. Tbh he should be concerned for his well being if these reports about mafia involvement are true.

This is like a gangster movie.

Just for the quality of the product, it doesn't get much better than OKC vs. Houston a couple nights ago. And then the Wemby Show. San Antonio hasn't lost yet, I believe.

Every night Wemby has a 3 or 4 possession stretch where he does complete alien stuff.

I just looked at his numbers, 34 MPG, he's averaging 30 and 14 with almost 5 blocks a game! Maybe even more crazy, he averaged 3.7 TO per game as a rookie, 3.2 last year, and down to 1.8 so far this year. Obviously its only 5 games, but still.

Lol go look at Giannis' per 36 numbers for this season. It is so absurd.

Is Ja Morant more trouble then he's worth?
Just heard about his suspension.
He's 26 now and sill manages to get himself noticed for making bad decisions.

He’s not. If he wasn’t a 6-2” guard, maybe the juice would be worth the squeeze.

Yes, the way Wemby is exploding is "must watch TV".
San Antonio is suddenly way ahead of schedule in their rebuild.

I just checked their box score from last night. I didn't realize they had De'Aaron Fox. I see Harper is hurt. When the Spurs get healthy they could challenge OKC in the West

The Heat's game-winning alley-oop off an inbounds w/ 0.4 seconds left last night was thing of beauty. Just perfect basketball.

And the Magic also won on a buzzer beater. So according to ESPN researchers, this was only the second time in NBA history that multiple games were won on buzzer beaters in the same state!
Nothing against the researchers, they do a great job and many maybe SU grads. But is this really something we need to know?

Really beautiful play. I will say though, defense never should have fallen for the elevator screen in the first place. With 0.4 seconds left, do you really think Miami is designing a play to get their shooter with the ball with his back to the basket at the 3 point line? Normal basketball instincts killed Cleveland there.

Planting the seed for a Magic-Heat buzzer-beater parlay special, only on ESPN Bet! $20 and a swift kick to the groin from Kevin Hart if you lose!
