2025-26 NBA

I know I’m getting old, but the association just feels different on NBC.
I’ve been watching Rockets/OKC for maybe 15 minutes, and I have yet to hear that beautiful NBA on NBC music coming in and out of commercial. They didnt screw this detail up, did they? : /

I know I’m old because I forgot/don’t remember that Carmelo played for OKC….

Take your vitamins/eat right/get your sleep, y’all.

Will the Knicks have a bench this year? The Athletic's 32 NBA writers have voted for Sixth Man of the Year - and THREE Knicks got votes. Very optimistic about the new season!

And the Rockets look just like last year only with KD. Every bucket a fight to the death. cannot get an easy points. No outside shooting. No spacing. Pick and rolls that do nothing but bring two defenders to the ball carrier. BTW, how can they let Noah Eagle go on national TV with that awful rug.

Don’t see how some analysts have the Lakers top 4 in the west. 40 year old LeBron won’t be a savior.
LBJ is going to love the Lakers opening 1-5. If they bust out 4-2 (which they won't) he would be cured in a second.

Chet Holmgren has such a punchable face.
Give me Sengun all day.

You’d have to punch his face. If you punched his body your fist would probably go through it

If Holmgren makes the leap this year the rest of the league can forget about having any shot at a title. He was phenomenal last night. Better than KD.
OKC has a bit of that dynasty feel to them.

While I do expect them to repeat, a hangover season wouldn’t surprise me. They’re still very young. After losing 14 games during the regular season, they lost 7 during the playoffs (would have been at least 8 if Morant doesn’t get hurt). The Rockets, Nuggets, and Clippers all improved in the offseason and have more veterans.

I'm wondering if the youth helps them. A really difficult part about repeating is how much tread you use up during the regular season and the added playoff games.

Maybe the young legs off set that some?

But agreed that the path through the west looks to be a bit tougher this season. Which is crazy, it's not like the west is ever easy.

KD was lazy as hell . I didn’t realize what a floater he is. He just floats around the perimeter and jacks up jumpers. I thought he used to do more than that

The last few years have me thinking of Durant's career in a much less flattering light.
Yes, he gets his points, but his time with the Nets, the Suns - that's the last SIX years of his career that have gone nowhere. How great is he, really?

Well, he dribbles into the lane sometimes, too. His efficiency from the midrange is specifically what Houston was looking for from him.

At this point, I think he only cares about getting paid and moving up the scoring list.

I’ve never been a KD fan. He’s a mercenary. And so is Melo but Melo got killed for it unlike KD.

Eh, its more like 4 years. In 2021 they played the eventual champions to a standstill and win the series if his foot isnt on the line. He averaged 35-10-5 in that series and went for 48-9-6 in game 7 without Kyrie and with a Harden who was barely mobile with a hamstring injury. He was pretty damn great

How many rings does Steph have without KD? He was one of the elite offensive players of all time. Houston got him to make shots in the playoffs. Let's see how that plays out.
Also, I love Melo, but there is not one player from their era who would take him over KD.
