2025-26 NBA

How many rings does Steph have without KD? He was one of the elite offensive players of all time. Houston got him to make shots in the playoffs. Let's see how that plays out.
Also, I love Melo, but there is not one player from their era who would take him over KD.

Melo was a great player. He was tough, physical for a SF. He was very good 1-on-1.
He was selfish in chasing a particular contract that cost him a great supporting cast when he first came to NYC. That's on him. But his play in so many Olympics should kill any questions about whether or not he was a great player.

Never said he wasn't. He was not as good as Durant.

This trade always boggle my mind.

“On July 10, 2019, the Clippers traded Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, five first-round draft picks, and the rights to swap two other first-round picks to the Oklahoma City Thunder for NBA All-Star Paul George.”

KD is arguably the best scoring forward in the history of the NBA. He’s 37 now probably not the best time to analyzing his game day to day. There will be nobody of sane mind that tries to draw comparisons to him and Carmelo Anthony when it comes to there impact on the game.

I've never quite understood how the Olympics is such a great plus for Melo. The fact that he was great when he played on a team that was way better than any other team is supposed to be this trump card?

Melo was a great player, deserving HOF. But I also think it speaks to his NBA career that his backers feel the need to constantly point to the olympics. And btw, if you're doing a Melo-Durant thing, and you're pro Melo, you may not want to point to the olympics, cause Durant has him beat there as well.

I think they are closer in talent and career accomplishments than you do.

Melo is not George Gervin or Adrian Dantley or Dominque Wilkins.

He was a more well-rounded player than all those guys.

Because he was a leader on that team, along with Kobe and LeBron. They were like The Three Amigos on those teams.

Jazz up 78-47 vs Clippers at halftime of game one. Jazz look young and fresh. Clips look old and slow.

Austin Ainge and Danny Ainge will find a way to ratchet things back, probably starting in the 2nd half, as they start their tank for Boozer or Dybantsa, both with Utah ties.

I think AD is one of the most underrated players ever. Averaged close to 20 a game in the Olympics ( think he had 30) in the Gold medal game.
His NBA numbers are impressive too. Comparable to anyone offensively.

Kessler playing like he's pissed off he doesn't have a contract extension.

Talent is a lot more subjective so fair enough (I disagree but fair. However I do agree with you re: melo vs dantley, nique, etc. ) but as far as actual career accomplishments I don’t see how it’s close.

One guy has two titles, two finals mvps, one regular season mvp, 15 all star games, 6 first time all nba, 5 time second team, 4 time scoring champ.

The other guy has zero titles, no mvps, 10 all star games, zero first team all nba, and 2 second teams, 1 time scoring champ.

Hindsight is 20/20. Every GM in the league would have made that trade for George at the time.

I dunno about that but it wasnt universally panned or anything and it was also made with the knowledge you were getting Kawhi if you did the deal, so I take the point.

And they did have a really good team for a few years, but then some things went against them.

I don't see a thread out there so I'll get this going. Not a good start for Silver

The billips business is poker related . I just don’t care even a little bit if people want to bet whatever on poker. There is no insinuation of anything that would call into question his coaching integrity

Yeah the rozier thing seems pretty concerning so far at least. Billups less so though I also get why it’s not a great look for the league if a coach is tied in with the mob so we’ll see.

For sure, not a great look but a whole better than betting on the NBA as a head coach
