2025-26 NBA

Think it goes without saying that getting Trae essentially for free is a pretty solid move for the Wizards. Not endorsing signing him to a long term max contract, but this is a nice buy low opportunity for a team that desperately needed a PG that can create looks for anyone, themselves included. There's a non-zero chance that with young guys developing the right way and some draft lottery luck, they could be fighting for a play in game/playoff spot next year.

Celtics are a lot of fun to watch. The Luke Kornet tribute they just did was great.

The Knicks are a mess. They need to make a trade.
They are. KAT is a problem, but I have been firm in my belief as great as Brunson is - you aren't winning it all when your best player is a 6 foot ball dominant PG who doesn't share and doesn't guard at a high level...oh and has a Dad on the bench.

Anunoby hasn't been great either. Can't help, but notice one of the negatives of Thibs leaving is the defense going in the crapper.

I think the biggest problem is that you basically have the two worst defenders in the league at their positions as your two stars. Really, really difficult to win in the playoffs with that setup.

As a Celtics fan, I’m completely fine with the Knicks setup

It's been trending very poorly recently, but for the season they'e 18th in defense vs 14th last year. It's not a precipitous drop or anything. (The last month or so I think they're 29th though)

Since around Christmas they've been one of the worst teams in the league overall.

Gonna just go on record as saying Ime Uchoka is a crappy coach.

Great game - missed a lot of IU/Canes watching. If - IF - Tatum gets back the Celtics are going to win the east, but I love Detroit's style.
Same here. Cs really need another big to compete as well as Tatum. My nephew resembles Hauser and I really like seeing Sam playing well lately. He’s shooting with confidence and it’s fun to watch

Watching Utah Jazz vs San Antonio tonight. Jusuf Nurkic, the Jazz center just had back to back triple doubles. 1st Jazz player to do it in 51 years since Pistol Pete. Not sure which is harder to believe, that no other Jazz player has done it in that time frame, or that Pistol Pete played that long ago.

He's had some really good games this year. Personally, I think they should trade him before the deadline but I don't think they will.

Yeah, but at least Brunson tries. He's not big enough to guard a lot of guys, but damn, KAT didn't run back TWICE on an extended possession. It's like he's making himself the target to be traded. You just can't do that in NY and expect people not to notice.

I just read that Nurkic had one triple double in his first 600+ games in the NBA and now he has had two in a row. Freaky stuff that he would have double digit assists, but Nurkic is getting the ball to the right people.

The Jazz have a decent offense with lots of young players, including the blossoming of Keyonte George. The reason their record is so bad, besides occasionally going into tank mode, is that they have the worst defense in the league.

My hot take is kat hasn’t been that bad on the whole defensively this season and Brunson has been pretty awful.

On the whole the Knicks are 4.9points per 100 better when kat plays (second on the team) and it’s all coming on the defensive end. They’re 10 points worse defensively when Brunson is on (and the offense is amazing when he plays so they’re about 1 point better when he’s on vs when he’s off)

I still think if you shot every Knick with truth serum they'd all say playing with Brunson stinks. I think they'd also say having his Dad on staff is also a problem.

Nurkic had his 3rd Triple-Double in a row last night even though the Jazz got spanked. 1st Jazz player in their history to have three in a row.

Jazz trying to prop Nurkic up, as there is some interest in him prior to the trade deadline.

Would not be an issue trading him if it was a guarantee they were signing Walker Kessler this summer. Kessler is a restricted FA, so the Jazz will be able to match the offers, but someone will probably offer some stupid amount, like $120+ million which is what he is looking for.
