2025-26 NBA

Nurkic had his 3rd Triple-Double in a row last night even though the Jazz got spanked. 1st Jazz player in their history to have three in a row.

Jazz trying to prop Nurkic up, as there is some interest in him prior to the trade deadline.

Would not be an issue trading him if it was a guarantee they were signing Walker Kessler this summer. Kessler is a restricted FA, so the Jazz will be able to match the offers, but someone will probably offer some stupid amount, like $120+ million which is what he is looking for.
Isn’t he always hurt ?

Cooper and Conner combine for 83 in Mavs loss to Charlotte. Highest rookie point total in a game for college teammates. 3rd highest in history for 2 rookies scoring. Pistol Pete and Nate Arcibald are tops with 91.

Scheyer has some explaining to do how he lost with those 2 guys.

My hot take is kat hasn’t been that bad on the whole defensively this season and Brunson has been pretty awful.

On the whole the Knicks are 4.9points per 100 better when kat plays (second on the team) and it’s all coming on the defensive end. They’re 10 points worse defensively when Brunson is on (and the offense is amazing when he plays so they’re about 1 point better when he’s on vs when he’s off)
Plus minus can be helpful sometimes and incredibly unhelpful in other times. If I remember right, the Knicks were statistically better when Cam Payne was playing in Brunson's place last season too lol.

I think Brunson is an awesome player, but I do generally think he's the big liability on defense there. I think putting a bunch of good wing defenders around him and KAT made a ton of sense on paper but they haven't been able to cover up for them as effectively as I think most people thought it might.

Still one of the teams to beat in this weird Eastern Conference though.

I’d also like to point out since I posted this kat has been mostly awful.

Payne had their third best on/off splits last year! (I don’t remember this. Kat had the best. lol)

Also interesting; last year the Knicks were no worse defensively with kat on vs off and this year they’re almost 4 points better

This is really a pet peeve of mine but I think it’s a legitimate beef. Why in the hell does the NBA allow freaking photographers and camera people on the end lines in such positions that there is any chance they can trip up players? You see it not too infrequently. You don’t see many actual injuries but that’s only because the players are actually altering their approaches to the basket knowing if they are too aggressive, a collision will occur.

Go back and watch how different it was during the Covid games and there was nobody at all on the end lines. There was a noticeable difference and freedom of flow around the basket with players being much more aggressive on basket attacks.

What exactly would we lose by removing them? It’s a crappy angle visually anyway. It’s just stupid

I’d also be curious to learn how many photogs actually have been hurt in those stupid locations. Can’t we just embed cameras in the area that could do just as good a job without being intrusive?

Rodman was right kicking that guy back in the day.

I love the camera dude on the chair with wheels right under the basket. There is no more obtrusive yet useless person on the court. They are “close to the action” yet provide you the absolute worst angle to see What is going on in a game. The low / behind the backboard view.

Euro leagues don’t put up with this crap. They have the entire area quartered off. I don’t really understand why the owners put up with it. They have hundreds of millions of dollars invested in these players. The networks also lose if a star player were to get hurt.

Funny, was watching the celts game last night and one of the shots they featured from under the basket was one of the opponents backside as he was running up the court. Great stuff…

Sorry lol probably should have included the video. Was making fun of Jamal Mashburn because he seriously believes that.

Just an all time bad take. Just eye balling things, he goes first in every draft other than Wemby I think until at least 2019; Zion goes ahead of him I think? 2015 was Kat, I dunno how that one goes. 2012 was Davis, I think Davis would def go ahead of him.

As a Knick fan the Knicks-Laker game was fun to watch. Shamet was on fire and OG had timely hoops. The game atmosphere was electric with Lebron, Doncic and the regular cast of stars, Spike Lee, Tracey Morgan, Ben Stiller and others. I thought Melo handled his analyst gig like a pro as well. I was pleased with the Knicks win and I was impressed with the sportsman ship the Lakers showed after the game.

I, too, noticed the "others."
