Yeah and you and I and others aren't really giving a prediction of how it's going to go next season. The roster isn't even completed. Even when it is completed, I'm not going to give a prediction. What I do know and feel confident of is they aren't cutting any corners (extremely important) and building a basketball program and this is the first iteration of that program that is being built. People need to stop treating every move like GMAC is already on the hot seat. Let's be realistic he has atleast 3 years, I hope more than anyone this thing is on the upswing as soon as possible, but let him build it the right way, so when the time comes, he isn't on the hot seat. Or we realize he built it the wrong way, but he's doing just enough to keep his job.

Agree overall that people are losing it prematurely a bit, but Iowa State also had some key guys who were multi year players for them. Milanovic and Lipsey were in years 3 and 4 of college, all with Iowa State, and were clearly 2 of their best 3 players. Jefferson is a good example of a not that high rated transfer, but he had also been playing with Iowa State for a year already. They also had a couple freshman who came in and produced right away. They were not a team of new arrival low rated transfers.

We certainly do not have the veteran equivalent of a Milanovic or Lipsey in the fold and need to find that type of instant impact player out of the portal instead. As of now we do not have that. Hoping we can at least get some decent contributions out of our freshman similar to them.

Sorry I didn’t recognize the parody account.You’re perfect. This is why I’m generally hesitant to come on this board. It’s a circle jerk of frat bros. Meanwhile, keep believing we’re going to land a blur chip center or point guard. It’s not happening.

You're taking heat cause you ran with the parody which seems to be a board epidemic these days...
 
Of course Gerry isn't on the hot seat but our program is in a very precarious spot. That's why many of us felt so strongly about getting the right coach because we have to start winning now. That's also probably why some are skeptical and concerned about this year's portal class.

Had Gerry been hired instead of Red, he'd have more runway. I just don't think many fans are going to be very patient after what we've endured the last few years.

Until we get close to the league season next year, no one knows how good this team might be. A few winns early against teams that might have some potential will give us some insight. Until then the naysayers are going to nitpick.

The program is in a very precarious spot. The situation needs to be turned around ASAP, but you cannot cut corners in doing so. There is a way to navigate urgent situations and a way not to. All I've been trying to say on this board is I think we are doing it the right way. That's all.

You’ve been matter of fact certain we will suck this year and about the money we have against what others have said and are upset for being called out on using a parody account? Also no one has over the top expressed belief we are adding some guy like Hines. I don’t understand your schtick other than maybe it’s you want everyone to be miserable about the program like you are.

You always seem to show up around when there is some way to project negativity and then if there is something legitimately positive happening it’s radio silence while seemingly taking real pleasure at beating down any positivity you feel you can.
 
Let’s find us a 1 yr or 2 yr Serbian mercenary to feed in the post and be done with the portal guys for a starting 5. Gotta be some other Buljan types out there..
