Looks like things have kicked off. New helmets?
UVa's fall scrimmages -
Oct 19 (Philly area) - Michigan and St. Bonnie
Oct 26 (Centreville, VA) - G'town and Air Force
One event for both days.Doesnt that impact their ability to scrimmage pre-season this winter?
Looks like Kittelberger is rocking the number 5 this season.
Another thing that stands out as I overanalyze these pics is that it appears, in both galleries posted thus far, to be offensive players in White & defensive in Orange. If that’s correct, then Carter Kempney, Koby White, & Braydon Pike are all playing offense.
Interesting, because I’m saying that, based on the jersey color trend in pics, Kempney, White, & Pike are playing offense. I trust your info though. I’ve personally always thought that Kempney & Pike would ultimately project as SSDMs & I think that each has the size, athleticism, & physicality to really contribute there if they fully committed.Kempney was moved full time to defense as far as I know so that makes sense. Pike I thought might also be a good candidate to play SSDM so not overly surprised. He and Kittleberger could be a good young combo.

Been waiting awhile to drop this tidbit.
Team 91 Legends played up in Placid in Open Gold with a substantial Orange contingent. I saw them play twice. In the second game I spoke with Leo’s father for most of the game. Super nice guy.
I asked him about his son playing attack this year, his response was “No comment” with a big smile on his face.
That would definitely be an interesting development. If that happens I guess the big question is who plays alongside Leo and Spallina? I would assume Thomson reclaims his spot from last year, but Anderson would also be an option. With Thomson you'd have a veteran finisher, plus as a righty he'd help space the field. If they go with Anderson, you'd have three really good dodgers all at the position.
If it is Anderson, that might be awkward as I think both he and Leo take up similar spots on the field. Neither one is really an "X"/behind the cage attackman. But they did okay last year with Hiltz and Anderson last year so perhaps I am overthinking the spacing angle.
If the top five is Spallina, Thomson, Anderson, Leo and Rhoa, that leaves an unnamed player fighting for that last starting spot (most likely at midfield). McCarthy and Hottle underwhelmed last year as second line midfielders. Are any of the freshmen (Hahn, Rawson) ready? Is someone like O'Farrell or Meyer going to make a position change? Feels like there is a ton of talent on offense, but can't remember a time in the last two years where there was such an open question regarding the last starting spot.
I would assume if this does to come to fruition that SU may send Thomson back to middie and put Deere at attack. That would give you Spallina, Leo, and Deere with Thomson, Rhoa and Anderson at middie. Does make SU suspectable to teams who have an excellent SSDM who may short Deere so I am not sure this is the ultimate top 6. Should they leave Thomson at attack I would assume that the midfield would be Rhoa, Anderson and a middie with a decent dodging background. That's probably goin to be either Bogue Hahn or O'Farrell.
Looks like Greg Elijah Brown is back. I thought he had graduated. Helps the man up unit at the very least.
