2025 NFL Thread

I might be the only one but I hate the new kickoff format. Too many drives starting at the 35 plus level. And with teams now routinely attempting near 60 yd FG, two firsts and you’re nearly in FG range. I like rules that magnify the differences between good / great teams, not ones that minimize them
Don’t particularly care for it, but I get why they’ve done it. Touchbacks had become the norm with kickers having such big legs now. The league return rate last year was 32%. They want the ball in play.

Birds waived OL Kenyon Green yesterday with no corresponding move, so Howie is cooking up something… a FA signing, a trade, or maybe just a PS squad call up. We shall see…
Nothing exciting yet…

Birds signed OLB Patrick Johnson to the active roster, signed RB Montrell Johnson and OL Hollin Pierce to the Practice Squad, and released WR Elijah Cooks from the Practice Squad.

**Edit..
Birds just traded for Tank Bigsby. Makes sense I suppose with Shipley injury, but they also have AJ Dillon as well.

Not to mention the damage to player safety. Kickers are putting it down around the five yard line so that kicks are being returned most of the time, which is probably the most dangerous play in an NFL game. Car collisions all over the place. Player safety? lol Yeah let's play Sunday and then turn around and play Thursday. Of course the NFLPA sanctions this insanity.

I think they also have Audric Estime.

Caleb Williams doesn’t have it. Sunshine 2.0.
Sucks. The Bears fan cope is hilarious albeit predictable. The OL wasn't even half as bad as they say last year according to all the metrics, his Sack/Pressure rate was abysmal.

I went to Ravens/Browns today. A few random observations:

-The NFL in person just doesn't excite my soul like college football. I don't know whether it's no band, or not being on a college campus, but it feels very sterile and corporate to me.
-Joe Flacco seemed SO old today. And Shedeur seemed mopey on the sideline.
-Ravens fans do not care that Ray Lewis was probably involved in a double murder. They go INSANE when he dances on the Jumbotron.
-I still think the Ravens are the best team in the league.

Buffalo
Baltimore
Cincinnati with a healthy burrow.
Chargers

All better than the Chiefs who look rather pedestrian offensively.
I feel like if Buffalo can't get home field advantage in the AFC this season, it's never going to happen.

Chiefs are 0-2. They have the tiebreaker with Baltimore which is massive because I don't see them losing more than 3-4 games absolute tops. Burrow banged up. And every hard game the Bills play is at home.

I don’t think HFA means that much to the Bills. They’ve ended their season in the playoffs at home two out of the last 3 seasons to Bengals and the Chiefs. All of the teams in the AFC perform well in cold weather except maybe the Chargers.

But it’s really advantageous to only have to win two games to get to the Super Bowl as opposed to three. I personally think the six teams with two byes was a fairer format.
