Obviously Carter out is huge, but the Eagles lost a lot on defense this past offseason. Not the same unit it has been at all the past 5 or 6 years.
These new taunting rules are absurd
I don’t get it.. there isn’t some epidemic of brawls breaking out due to opponents over zealous celebrations. This is a solution to a non-existent problemNo penalty for that celebration in the fumble recovery though, lol!
You can’t call who won or lost a trade for quite some timeI think Dallas lost the trade. The Pack and the rest of the NFC East won it.
The picks that Dallas gained will almost certainly be late first-rounders as Green Bay is not only one of the youngest teams in the league, but are now IMO legit Super Bowl contenders.
Where Dallas potentially improves is that they are now likely to be one of the worst teams in the league and will have primo draft picks (their own).
Let's assume that Dallas stops the run better. First, it's not likely to be THAT much better as Clark is above-average, but not necessarily someone for whom you have to game-plan.
But their pass defense is decidedly weakened. Probably the only thing that kept the defensive backs from being totally exposed was Parsons' unnatural pass rushing skills. At least three of their DB's go into the season injured.
Jerrah said at that embarrassing press conference that they have several guys who can rush the passer and that they've had success. True, they've had some success, but w/o having to game-plan for Parsons, teams can simply carve that secondary apart.
Parsons was by far the best asset in the trade. While Dallas will only suck a little more without him, players like him rarely fall into a team's lap. He did, now he's gone. Does anyone think that Jerrah, in his dotage, will do as well, or any better? When he also has to find Dak's replacement?
The Packers are the winners as are the other teams in the NFC East.
The 2023 defensive unit finished near the bottom of the NFL. They were awful, far worse than this year's team. Philly's issue is depth on defense. Their starters are fine but they can ill afford injuries this season. The offense is the best in the NFL.Obviously Carter out is huge, but the Eagles lost a lot on defense this past offseason. Well, they can't replace Carter. Their entire defensive approach revolves around him.The 2023 defensive unit finished near the bottom of the NFL. They were awful, far worse than this year's team. Depends on how you define 'won or lost'. Maybe if Dallas gets to a Super Bowl in the next (fill in the blank) years, you can declare them a winner. You can’t call who won or lost a trade for quite some time
Fair. Front 7 is not as scary as it typically is. That’s usually what I’ve always thought was Philly’s backbone no matter what the rest of the team did.The 2023 defensive unit finished near the bottom of the NFL. Yeah I think that is probably true. They signed Za'Darius Smith yesterday who was a free agent. He had nine sacks last year so he can help on the edge and provide depth. I think the LBs will be very solid with Baun and Jihaad Campbell. They need to sign another DB.Fair. Front 7 is not as scary as it typically is. Front Seven will be much scarier with Carter back (Looks like he's not gonna be suspended).Yeah I think that is probably true. They signed Za'Darius Smith yesterday who was a free agent.
