2025 NFL Thread

Random passing thought: in college football, traditional programs very rarely build new stadiums. They generally just renovate their historic existing stadium by increasing seating, installing ribbon lighting, luxury suites, etc. We've seen this at Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, Syracuse, and many other places.

Why can't the NFL do this? Why is it necessary to fleece taxpayers for ungodly amounts of money (see: Buffalo) instead of just giving the current place a comprehensive facelift?

Because the NFL has owners that are looking to fleece municipalities and increase franchise value. They also have the threat of relocation as a negotiating tactic (that often works), something that colleges do not have, so they have to make do with what they can.

Yep. It makes sense that the Packers with their unique ownership simply stayed put and gave their historical stadium a makeover that preserved its character.

Dolphins and Steelers make a big trade yesterday… Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith, & a 7th for Minkah Fitzpatrick & a 5th.

And then the Phins trade for a retired Darren Waller to replace Jonnu.

Steelers need to take care of TJ Watt.

The Steelers would be a Super Bowl favorite in 2018!

I could be completely wrong about this but I have this feeling the Lions are gonna flop

If you think Detroit in 2025 is going to have the 2024 Niners season from hell bet the Lions win total under along with some smaller bets on their alternate under win totals. Also hammer their opponents in the first 4 weeks before the books adjust.

Parsons showed up for camp despite no deal. And Jerry being Jerry prepping a lowball offer…

Showing up isn't the same as participating in the workouts. I don't blame Parsons one bit.

In fact, you (meaning I) might say that Jerry Jones' dealings with Micah could be deemed 'parsonsmonious'.

Yup. Don’t blame him either. Avoid fines, etc.

Birds will take Micah off your hands and pay him, Jerry!

Looks like you'll need to make a road trip to either Louisiana or New Mexico. New Mexico is brick and mortar only.

Wah? He kissed some guy on the head and he’s cut? So weird. The entire thing .

I didn't read the article, did it specify which head? That matters.

The rumor is he was licking toes. Not sure if we are getting the entire story.

Parsons traded to Green Bay

Jerry Jones is the gift that keeps on giving for the NFC
They weren't going to finish above 500 with him. So trading him makes sense.

That said, two potentially late 1st round picks and a 30 year old DT is an absolute fleecing. GB took them to the woodshed for a generational talent and gave up virtually nothing.

Jerr'ah isn't playing with a full deck anymore imo.

I wonder what GB would have said if Dallas said the two 1's and the Clark just aren't enough. We need a 3 as well. Would GB have said No. That is too much? Of course not.

Maybe Im crazy. But I think Dallas did pretty well in this trade. He's not Lawrence Taylor despite all the hype he had early on. Dallas is not a Ship contender with or without Parsons. They just aren't. Perhaps this is a lucid interval by the Jonse's and they are gearing up for the future. If they were a legit contender then this trade in the short term definitively makes them worse. But they are NOT.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. He is excellent but they aren't close to winning it all with him or without him. I think they will need to get creative to make the picks pay off as Packers picks should not be great.
