After reading this thread I realize that the joy created by the success of last season has officially ended . Everyone has moved on and is worried about this season. Kinda sad it’s over. Let’s hope they come to close that this year but it certainly seems the cards are stacked against us. But ya never know, as we all know life frequently doesn’t go as expected

I am actually excited about the season. Even though we have had changes and a difficult schedule I feel Fran will have the team ready. Fran has consistently worked to improve the team at every step. I’m ready for season to start. LGO

I asked the question in another thread. Does anyone know if the players will be staying in dorms again during camp?

They are staying in dorms heard it from a player.

Yup. 120+ players will be staying in the UV Apartments and the south campus dorms/apartments. I don’t think the south campus apartments have ac like the UV apartments.

Players turned their keys in and will be walking back and forth to the facility for daily football
activities for the next two weeks. Camp doesn’t end in two weeks. Camp will run until the week before the Tennessee game.

Should be an interesting camp with players competing for playing time at several positions; QB, OL, DL, LB, and S.

I am curious to see what changes Coach Brumfield has made on special teams. Brady Denaburg’s ability to put kickoffs in the end zone is an under appreciated skill.

I would assume we won’t see any type of depth chart from the team until the last week of August.

However, I think we might get an updated roster with player weights this week.

Normally the official “weigh in” for a season happens either on the first day of camp or just before it.

I think the move ins and reporting portion is happening now. Don't believe there's been any football quite yet.

Great write-up. I certainly hope Robinson gets more aggressive. Fran refused to criticize Robinson last year when his decision to not pressure the QB on the key play against Stanford lost that game. That decision to play passive led to a loss at home to the worst team in the ACC. Inexcusable.

Having Freeney on staff hopefully leads to better edge rushing.

I would rather attack and lose than sit back and hope. Very few defenses are nationally ranked dit back and read. Most are sggresdive downhill teams that take away run

Fran says the end of Stanford was all on him. He called the defense and didn’t listen to his staff.

I believe that was him takjng blame as they probably agreed on it. Not sure why.

Robinson did the worst combo on the Stanford disaster. Somehow dropping back and leaving the NFL draft pick WR in single coverage. If you're going to play wimp ball at least double the obvious WR1. If you're going to single cover the receivers then bring the house. This dude did neither and should have been fired on the spot.

I dont know about the firing part but he really screwed the pooch on that 2x. Hopefully he learns and things get aggresdive this year.

I love those backpacks, anybody know if they are available for the public to buy? Also, as someone who has not seen the campus in quite some time, are they staying in old dorms/housing? From the limited view I saw, they looked old. I thought I remember that they were building new housing for the athletes.

His statement is pretty detailed on what happened. That is an elaborate explanation just to deflect blame if that’s not what happened.
