2025 Preseason Camp Thread

Nitpicking. Clearly means the ball’s apex in the vicinity of the receiver and within his catch radius. Or the vertical part of it to be more precise ;)
It's absolutely nitpicking... and accurate. The apex is the ball's highest point in its parabolic path. We want our guys catching it at the highest point in the downward trajectory that they can reach. Hopefully, we get to see some guys with hops do that very thing this year.

So, some interesting tidbits there. Glad to hear that Bryant [transfer LB] is everything he was cracked up to be. Axe said that at the practices he attended, Bryant was tough against the run, forced some turnovers, is a big hitter, and excels in coverage -- a guy who won't come off the field much. EXACTLY what we needed to infuse some juice to the LB corps.

Also indicated that Heard has taken a sizeable step forward, and that he, Bryant, and McDonald seem like the starting group.
Wanting to see how well McDonald gets off blocks this year. when he was starting 2 years ago he wasnt good at it. Hopefully he has improved

Health updates

Syracuse still looks to be in good health as the team enters its second week of training camp.

Tight end Jamie Tremble is the biggest name who has missed time recently.

Since making an impressive sideline catch during an early session he has missed the past few practices while wearing a green non-contact jersey.

Tremble has been doing exercises with members of the team’s strength staff on the side, including side planks and medicine ball work. He has not been wearing any protective device that indicates a major injury.

Freshman wide receiver Julian McFadden has had his arm in a sling during recent practices. Another freshman wide receiver, CBA’s Darien Williams, has also been a non-contact participant the past few practices.

Simply a guess, but there is an emphasis these days to cross train the OLine in practice. Tackles play Guard, Guards play center. Centers play guard. You get the point. Promotes flexibility, depth and knowledge of the objective of the offense. If Fran adheres to this concept, it might not be worth the time hyper analyzing who is playing where and with whom. That said, with only 1 returning starter up front, they may be ignoring that trend for now and prioritizing the selection of the starters and two-deep.

Just food for thought.
I get that but any oline guys will tell u they need to have time with the same guys next to them so they get used to how each guy blocks. one guy doesnt stick on a double long enough or too long. its consistancy and u need a few weeks at least for that to happen.

Hailey will be a CB, correct?

Syracuse . com reporting Ta'Ron Haile moving to DB. Haven't heard anything anywhere else? Did I miss it?

Oh man, who is the WR in slide 10 one handing the rock? If that was a catch, all I gotta say is

I would guess safety, as in a highlight the other day i believe he was the one who caught an overthrow pic and appeared to be playing out in space as a safety.

Edit: I stand corrected. That was Braheem Long Jr who caught that overthrow. So Haile could be a CB.
