They haven’t been shut out. They’ve had more media availabilities during the fall and spring than they did under Dino. Just because they didn’t break this doesn’t mean they’re shut out. They also could break stuff themselves. They don’t need handouts.

The reality is a story on espn.com and tweets from thamel are worth more than a story on Syracuse.com for our program. The local guys will still cover it after the fact and more of our fans can read it without a paywall on ESPN.com. Non paywalled sites get far more eyeballs if you care about reach and attention. My alum friends saw this story and texted me about it way faster than if Syracuse post standard had written about it first.

I don't care who broke the QB1 thing. My initial comment was solely that this fall's camp has been on Dino-level lockdown. Practice access has been extremely limited.

yeah, how so? They need access to do their job. You do understand that, right? And the school doesn't call a national guy when they want information to be sent out locally. The call the local media. That should go both ways.

Just listen to Fran’s presser today. They ask terrible questions.

Limited opportunities in the beginning. The media wasn’t allowed to attend scrimmages last fall either.

Syracuse has been doing the same thing with football going back to when P was coach. Maybe it got a little worse with Marrone but there’s never been a lot of open access at practices for football. And comparing Fran to Dino is just not factually accurate. Dino didn’t even let his assistants talk to the media.

Basketball was a different story under Boeheim but he didn’t care if anyone showed up to practice. He was the anomaly in sports.

Just because I like throwing out wild predictions, I think our starting QB next season (unless he completely face plants in his bowl game) will be Angeli from Notre Dame.

Was a quality croot, has the NJ connection (Bergen Catholic), ND isn't going to go with an unproven commodity at QB in this era and they just got a commit from Riley Leonard so Angeli'll be looking for an opportunity.

Help me manifest this.

They can be allowed back when he runs for 2900 yards (in 12 games instead of Barry's 11) and wins the Heisman.

Javon Edmonds saying that Rickie was "clearly" the more talented player, this was the safe pick, and already openly wondering when Rickie will come in when the offense gets "stale". Ok bro. Axe feeding into it as well. They can't handle that they got their prediction wrong.

Pretty wild to definitively be saying that Rickie is more talented when nobody has seen him play a down, let alone in practice. Fran got mad at Axe for a dumb question in the press conference too...I'm not surprised they aren't getting any scoops

Yeah, it doesn't feel like these guys bring a lot of expertise to the table. Every time Javon suggests that something doesn't work because he saw it not work at Temple I want to interject a question like, "How many things worked well at Temple, and, as a follow-up, do you believe that just because something doesn't work well at Temple, that it couldn't work somewhere else?"
