2025 West Lot/Selection date and times UPDATED

Throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks. Build a massive multistory garage that can store upwards of 1,200 cars on the site of one of the current west lots. Then mandate that those are only for non tailgaters and the remaining surface lots are only for tailgaters.

Why should the school invest in excess capacity to accommodate a couple of thousand people (at the most) for 6-7 days a year?

where is the cost analysis on that one? Yikes

Just gave my rep an earful. He wasn’t the least bit apologetic and offered no sympathy. No surprise. Robots.
I just found out my rep left Su Atheltics in the last week so...

True. That’s what separates schools like Penn State from us. We suck at tailgating and it hurts us with GameDay atmosphere and ultimately affects recruiting.

Fortunately our lot attendants are great and allows folks to drop off stuff. You'll just have to wait until Jeremy is done with his post game lecture to grab the car
As long as we keep feeding him. Gave him a nice restaurant gift card to take his wife to dinner at the end of the season last year too. Keep greasing the wheels!

It’s not a good, fair, or accurate comparison. Biggest disconnect is at PSU the stadium is adjecent to, not in the middle of, campus, unlike SU. Very rural vs urban is second. Third state vs private.

If the stadium was in the middle of oakwood cemetery, that would be a much closer match.

Correct. We just happened to build a stadium in the center of campus and when we had the opportunity, or thought about another option, we stayed with the stadium in the middle of an urban campus.

Even parking on south campus would be less of an issue if they had better infrastructure plan to deal with it.

If you want to move more people you need more buses. The actual ride isn't that bad. But you can't plan on it being timely in or out.. Before the game you better be an extra hour early just in case.

The PGA did the thing with remote parking and buses but they had much more efficient use and timing and that trip was much longer to deal with.

Let's be clear. I think that when many compare Syracuse to Penn State i dont thinknits about logistics or even resources. Its about sentiment and attitude. Things like tailgating and fan experience are just so far down the list of things the university will actually make fundamental change around its just hard to take it seriously as a major sports school sometimes.

Buses are what you use when you are working to an actual modern long term solution.

I was just looking. UNC has the same issue. Looks like they offer tailgates around the stadium they run.

Anyone know the deal with Meirs creeks set up? Is that available to join or strictly private?

Not every lot has to be a tailgate lot either

Could you work with Nottingham or build a lot at thorndon park? Who owns that? or run busses from Destiny.. Just to spread things out

I think Thorndon is a city owned park.

Not a bad idea...not sure 1200 is feasible

MANLEY EAST.

(I think Manley East is the Tops Market on Nottingham).

Seriously, my brother and I have parked at SMAN (now COLV) for ages, and it's what I requested.

I understand that what works for me may not work for everyone else.

Good night, and good luck.
