Five this week and next due to the amount of moved games and indoor matchups.
I fail to see that rationale. It seems like maybe we should pick less with such irregularities.
Further, the Ivy League is not even playing yet. Not to mention that we have somewhat limited information on the teams so early in the season.
Anyways this is all in fun, so no matter.

Ivy starts next week so they'll be included. There was minimal games to pick last week with all the cancelations so the choices were pretty slim. Despite moving some around to Friday and some indoors there a dozens of games to choose from this week and obviously next. Wanted to offer an additional game so those playing can get a few extra chances after a brutal week 0 with so few options.

5 Picks this week

Brutal start after the disastrous ROMO and Lafayette picks left me 0-3-1

Saving 1 pick pending the lines for the Tuesday games.

Army -2.5 - I may regret this but after seeing some of the Rutty/jax game I just don't know how Rutgers is going to score. Army is surely going to target Kurdyla and I don't think RU has the horses to score if he gets shut down or limited. Also think Army is likely to have a big advantage at the X.

Fairfield +1.5 - Surprised this line wasn't Flip-flopped. Stags return a lot from a solid season and Lehigh has a lot of question marks on offense. Should still be a close game but getting the hook makes this to enticing to pass up.

Loyola +7 - Much like the Army pick I may regret this but Loyola has historically played Maryland well. Even last year when they were a mess they only lost by 1 to the Terps. I don't love that this is inside but 7 seems like a lot here so I think it's worth the gamble

LIU -2.5 - Sharks return a lot and the game is at home. The mount brings back I think like 3 of its top 4 scorers but looks like it lost a lot on defense. May switch this to Sacred Heart.

5th game pending

UVA -5
Fairfield + 1.5

prov -1.5
both bring a lot back, neighbors no real home field, not sure why i want this other than the friars are probably more explosive, possible benson trajectory and i need a 5th game. reserve the right to talk myself out of it by gametime.

fairfield +1.5
7 of 8 scorers including top 3, fogo, goalie and terror radossich on d. same as above.

loyola +7
even in their disaster last year, loy lost a game or 2 by 7+, terps won just one. and went ot last year. scrimmage season for loyola suggests they may have a pulse again. terps have to win by 8+? yes please.

army -2.5
would love to see army have a banner year, no better place than rutty to really kick it into higher gear. this is a play for a triple win potential.

psu -5
nova's shooting is as bad as rutgers, psu can score and one of their goalies, probably todd shreiner's kid, has to be better eventually than week zero.

haven't talked myself into st joseph's as a replacement... yet.

loyola +7

You are probably picking on the right side of the spread for the Loyola at UMd game. It is fair to note that in 2024 Maryland won 11-4 at home, and in 2022 Maryland won 20 - 8 at home.

Tillman doesn't seem in general to be big at running up the score, many a game have I watched where Tillman put the reserves in in the 4th quarter and they just ran clock. So it is usually dangerous to pick Maryland with a high spread.
