2026 Olympic Hockey

I think it was general incompetence.

Sarah Nurse is a key player for Canada. Her aunt is Roxi Nurse McNabb and her uncle id Donovan McNabb.

One of the assistant coaches for Canada is Britni Smith, who played at St Lawrence and then was an assistant at Clarkson. She been the SU women’s hockey coach for a couple years. I think the SU women’s team has collapsed since Britni left the team….
Also, Melissa Piacentini, SU's all time leading scorer, is a coach for the US team.

I can’t stand the way Albert does play by play. He’s so often behind the play. It’s just as bad on the NHL broadcasts so it’s not lack of familiarity with the rosters. He’s just behind. I wish I could get the CBC broadcast here

Omg stop talking about freaking snoop dog in a 1-0 gold medal game !!

Frankel has been the MVP today.

USA defense is awful and they’re too much one and done in the offensive zone.

Canada looks faster and is playing more composed. USA are a collection of spastic colts wasting their legs.

This is a fun game. Fast, pretty physical, refs letting them play. Goalies have been great. Good crowd too.

Now just need a couple of USA goals and call it a day.

I can almost guarantee you “spastic colts wasting their legs” is a phrase never before written on this website

Agree. I don’t watch much women’s hockey but it appears to be much more free flowing and rush based whereas the men’s game is akin to half court offense

Amazing how all these close games the last few days (4 of last 5 games), have had a tying goal in the last few minutes of the game... Canada, Finland, Sweden and now USA.

They have a full intermission ? What is this nonsense .

It's because in "theory" the gold medal game can last longer before shootout... since 3vs3 is 20 minutes in gold medal game, vs 10 minutes in earlier games.

Since there are no other games planned on the day, I don't understand why they couldn't go 20 minutes of regular 5 vs 5 play. I can understand the preliminary schedules are tighter within a day, but there is nothing after the gold medal game.

I would expect a comet to crash into the arena before a 3 on 3 went a full 20

There was a game last year that went the full 20 (or close to it). It may have been in the Juniors between USA and Finland,

It happens more in the Men, because they are used to playing 3-3, and waste a bunch of time re-grouping and starting over.
