2026 Potential Roster / Portal Entries

Syracusefan.com started well over 25 years ago. We've only been on this platform since 2011.

More questions for you.

Seeing those years listed is wild but also makes me sad recalling those icons we've lost whilst appreciating having the pleasure of having known them in any capacity. Almost hesitant to list any because there are multitudes but Orangeyes, Calicuse and SWC75 immediately spring to mind.

Cali would've been juiced to the peel over Malachi James in particular and heart broken by his transfer... that man LOVED elite speed. He and I were both convinced Dom Timbers was going to be a star among others. I hope Cali's son is doing well, his poppa was damn proud of him and always shared as much.

Cali's son Terry was showrunner for Star Trek: Picard a few years ago. Don't know what he's up to now, but it's not ST related.

Cali had another son (whose name escapes me) who lives on the East Coast.

Thank you for sharing. Didn't think either were posters/lurkers on this message board but never know.

Their dad was an absolute trip and a blast to talk all things Cuse with

Season 3, otherwise known as the only good one.

You watch this kid from Delaware throw dimes and you have to think there are kids out there that can throw and we struggle so much finding them for 30 yrs

Wondering when Ricky and Belin will enter the portal. If Belin could get zero time this season not sure why he would stay unless switching positions.
Someone on Carneys thread said he wanted to stay but was told to leave. Hope that is incorrect but if true not sure why Belin would not be told the same thing.

Plan was to redshirt Belin.

Although I don't know why he didn't see some action in 4 games.

QB and OL are the toughest positions for true freshmen.

The are so many questions on our overall talent. This season will either show that Fran can construct a roster or that he is more like a former coach of ours who had some really good key players but no foundation and little depth.

On D right now I like our CBs, AD, and Tremble (once we figure out how to use him properly). But that is only 4 out of 11 players. The other 7 will be either young (who are more prone to mistakes) or portal guys. Plus they are all learning a new system for a DC who is learning the ACC. I think next year will be more about seeing the D grow as the season goes on rather than actually producing. How can you with this roster? So I expect a 2020 like situation when White first came on.

On O we still have to figure out QB2 and QB3. We have only had one season since 2012 where we didn't need QB2 so this is important. For RB, is Nixon coming back? Even if he does we do not see to have great depth at RB. I like 2 of our WRs and we have a big time recruit. Everyone else though hasn't shown anything yet. What happens at TE? Do we go 4 WR instead? And then we have the OL where we lose 2.5 starters. Do we have young guys ready to step in next year? Or do we need to hit the portal which will be a crap shoot?

And we lose our P too.

There are so many questions for next year's team. It really seems like a rebuild year. Hopefully we see growth as the season goes on and we can find a way to 7-5.

We already have a few guys in the portal lined up to come to Cuse people will be happy about. Some that are already known and some that are not

Remember, the portal doesn't open until Jan 2 (and schools can "officially" contact players).

I hope Fran's balls are as big as this:
