2026 Recruiting

Well that certainly got us all excited, someone who is already committed to Notre Dame.

IL has also had as 5-stars:
Jamie Gillis, lefty midfielder from Chaminade, NY
Lucas Garcia, A/M from Brunswick

im interested to see how inside lacrosse does with this...it's their first year without ty xanders in awhile. say what you want about him but i will prob trust his ranks when they come out over IL's. they could be similar but im sure will have a few key differences...

speaking of ty i still cant believe he has basically rendered himself irrelevant by moving to this paywalled prep lacrosse site...they have no social media presence to speak of...IL is lapping them in terms of buzz and whatnot

i am hearing that this is not a very high academic class which could benefit the orange. theyve also got some money to play with after a tiny tiny 2025 class..

It also coincides with the current Jr Heavy class leaving so SU will have a lot of money to play around with as Joey and others come off the books so to speak.

I was told that, at least at Lawrenceville, Posner will be steering kids towards the ACC and B1G schools. He believes that from a NIL/resource standpoint, those schools will offer better opportunities moving forward. That's still not great for SU because our academics (perception of academics) lags behind some of our main competitors in those conferences.

IL has 30 girls listed as 5 stars...if they have that many for the boys then that would represent something of a change since Ty left...if i'm not mistaken it's usually only roughly the top 20 who get 5 star status and sometimes even less than that. last year with the 2025s i believe they awarded 19 5-stars...

dont think they have announced peck yet, but he will be one...

edit: nvm sounds like they will have 20 five stars when they announce in the morning

Both kids from Marcellus look like ACC level players. Rayfield with his speed. He looks like a Matt Abbott type. Doshna appears to be good size already. He can sling it on the run.

No reason to not land both those kids. Given the recent lack of talent in Section 3, gotta take advantage here.

Peck on the left …

Nothing too outrageous here, seems like guys are down on this class, but they said that last year as well, so who knows?

I couldn't really tell what this quote meant? Are more players headed to Ivy League schools? Would be be helpful to know if the coach speaking was from an Ivy (of course we've heard that isn't going to be the case this year) - “I feel like last year was a Big 10/ACC class and the top guys were outside of Ivy League and high-academic material, but I think it’s trending well there this year from our point of view…. "
Also found this nugget interesting - “It’ll be interesting how goalie recruiting shakes out since programs like Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina all don’t plan on taking one… I don’t think it’s super deep. A lot of guys have heard that the Class of 2027 is off-the-charts in goal, and that’s something to keep in mind for the coaches that don’t feel like this is a great group of goalies…"

Hunter Mezzatesta is a Yorktown product and IL's top rated goalie this class, perhaps SU has a shot here if others are not looking for goalies this time out?
