2026 Schedule

Cal in Week 2 will be a major test, as I expect them to be very good next season. Louisville will also be a tough matchup, and the back-to-back games against Clemson and SMU will be especially challenging. I see our ceiling at 10–2 and our floor at 6–6. What gives me confidence is the upgraded coaching staff—we finally have experienced coaches who actually have a scheme. On top of that, the elite 2026 recruiting class should fill the last remaining holes on this roster, with true freshmen and redshirt freshmen making real, immediate impacts.

I think there are some folks in here very happy about that.
I do like the balance. There are also a lot of easy roadtrips in the northeast and mid-atlantic. Going to be at a lot of games...

I didn’t really even look at that before. Furthest away is Raleigh/Chapel Hill.

3 close drives and a fourth reasonable. And none in places with crazy ticket prices either

I'd rather play them late. They tend to be the kind of teams that send us into an injury tailspin.

Plus Clemson is a 7-8 win program now.
And Syracuse tends to be the walking wounded come November

We should definitely wear black and orange uniforms for the SMU game.
agree...i'm just glad we didnt waste them this year for UNC.

I guess a halloween day game should be fine -- it was the night game last year on a Friday that killed what the locals with kids could do.

maybe smu at Noon? and clemson on friday?! that would be great...

They love putting Syracuse and Clemson on Thursday or Friday night

Are these Friday night games going to be announced as part of the 12 day in advance TV schedule?

I hope not, would be good to know earlier.

I hope not.

They're vague in the release:

Friday night football once again belongs to the ACC, with Weeks 1 through 6 each featuring at least one ACC team in primetime. The slate includes five conference matchups: Week 1 – Miami at Stanford; Week 3 – Miami at Wake Forest; Week 4 – Clemson at California; Week 5 – Pitt at Virginia Tech; and Week 6 – Florida State at Louisville, and a special non-conference contest in Week 2 as Boston College hosts Rutgers on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 for the Eagles’ annual Red Bandana Game honoring the memory of 9/11 Hero Welles Crowther.

Additional high-profile Friday night games will be featured in Weeks 8 through 10, to be announced later, followed by Florida State at Pitt in Week 11, Miami hosting Virginia Tech in Week 12, and Florida State welcoming Florida on Black Friday in Week 13.

will they make us play on halloween two years in a row?! so weird it's a friday or saturday. i'd love clemson to be friday but seems like friday then saturday would be better vs. two fridays.
If we have any say, we will not want to play at home on Halloween ever again.

It would be extremely unfair if the ACC asks Syracuse to play at home on Halloween two years in a row.

So Pitt on a Thursday night, 5 days after what I expect is going to be a very good Cal team in week 2 is not great. They do get a bye right after and it’s early in the season. Though maybe a short week game against Pitt early in the season is the secret sauce to finally winning that game at their place?
