2026 Spring Football Schedule/Spring Game

Because of one freshman? Lol get real
I think he is our highest rated recruit since the early 1990s. Not just any freshman. A lot of passionate fans here, and we seem to have these things happen a bit too often. We just feel cursed. I don't think anyone is overreacting. Just a gut blow and a shock to hear. No one wants to see this happen to a young student athlete.

Still an overreaction to say we’re doomed as a team because of one player that we haven’t even seen play.

Look, this sucks, and I wish him a smooth and speedy recovery.

But two things.

We rarely have an incoming freshman like him, so not having him is actually the norm.

And, historically there is a high correlation between the level of QB play we get and how good we are.

Angeli being healthy/one of the newcomers playing QB at a high level if he's not is what will make or break the season.

Of course, but Fran and company brought in A LOT of talent in the WR room. I think we will still have a great passing game.
Yeah, thankfully these guys still have multiple years of eligibility left, not just this season. It’ll be interesting to see how recruiting shapes up in 2027. Maybe I overreacted last night. I’m still excited for the season, but man, this definitely sucks.

Agreed 144%.

There’s no doubt that - if this is as bad as speculated - it’s a massive bummer and a loss.

Thankfully we seem to have a TON of high upside guys in the WR room, so PB Angeli & the other QB’s will have plenty o talented guys to throw the ball to.

Here’s hoping against hope that it isn’t as bad as feared.
And that either way, the recovery is as quick and complete as possible.

LFGO!!!!

It’s understandable, it’s a big blow.

I have a close friend who was at practice all weekend that told me Russell was visibly limping and seemed to be nursing a calf injury. Was still full go at practice.

Yikes if that is true and his Achilles went.

Yea the board will be having a witch hunt for Fran with the basketball decision 🤦🏿‍♂️
Did these ppl ever stop to think that part of the reason he committed was due to allowing him to play bball as well? That may have been what stopped Michigan in the 11th hour. Everybody knocking Fran for this just love to point fingers and nothing else.

Well he’s not a full go at practice with torn Achilles. Could be same thing that happened with Steve though, gets a calf injury and then tears his Achilles because calf muscle was injured before.

Good lord based on the first few comments I thought someone had died, one receiver injury is not going to sink the ship. This is one of those moments though where you think about donor fatigue, how much money was spent on a guy who won't even play for another year?
Exactly. Year 3 we should have receivers who can play.

The worst part about this is it's an NIL disaster. There's a ton of money now tied up in a player that will contribute nothing this year. Real #1 WR money that could have been used on multiple high level starters.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't have spent it, obviously I'm thrilled we got Calvin. But our roster is at a significant disadvantage based on how money was spent. We can overcome it, but it makes it that much harder
