2027 Recruiting

Cuse has definitely had success with transfers in the past (and misses), no different than chances of correctly assessing someone by jr year of high school. The big difference is the pool. For transfers, you need to have a quality option enter the portal, have interest in you, and choose you over other suitors. It's a seller's (transfer's) market. Definitely more options on the front end, whether they pan out is, of course, another story. Looking at other top programs though, it's clearly a position where Cuse has not gotten top ranked players (whatever that's worth) over the last few years. A gap there could put everything else at risk. Tough position to assess at this point in a players career, and by all measurements this year looks like it has a solid if unremarkable cadre of specialists (any of whom could of course pan out). A bunch of guys off the board already - I'd think the clear path to playing time would be an asset to sell to players, but we'll see.

Time to see who else the coaches have been recruiting - they really do need a top attack recruit in this class. Cuse has among the least heralded recruiting hauls at attack amongst peers in the proceeding classes. There should be a strong argument made for a path to quick playing time.
the latest on holbrough is that he may not be such a sure thing to UNC. but i dont know if cuse is involved...maryland is lurking...

if you assume cross is ND then the next best prize is prob caldroney...maybe take princeton out of the running since they just grabbed woods...i'd say hop, UVA, penn are in the mix for him. he is another high academic

the 5 star attackman cuse might have the best shot at could be stankavage...morsell doesnt feel like a fit.

Woods to Princeton. Darn it.

Bummer but not unexpected unfortunately, as NYC pointed out he has an IVY profile. Was always going to be tough to keep him away from the IVY's with Princeton being the main opponent along with Yale and to a lesser extent Cornell. Unfortunate but have to pivot to others.

Syracuse is going to be hard pressed to pull any prep school kid who also has great academics. Maybe he will make Syracuse a 5th year destination
I have to laugh when it comes to our issues recruiting. In lax we fight the Ivies and Duke, UVA for academic kids. In football we fight the state powers with their huge alumni base and amenities, and in hoops, we fight the teams who are better financed and at present have stronger coaching staffs. It is definitely frustrating.

Not sure if I am reading too much into this sort of thing, but Pat March doesn't follow a lot of people on Instagram (he's not very active from the looks of it), but of the top level attackmen he follows Holbrough, Stankavage and Chris Colsey. Maybe that's a clue into who they are targeting?

He also follows Ayden Matthews, Evan March, Grady Goodberlet, Max Kruger, Ryder Scott (three star attackman from Calvert Hall), Adrian Sweeney, Sean Currie (four star LSM from Lawrenceville who also has an offer from SU football) and of course Moe Sobel. Could mean absolutely nothing, but we have to get our clues where we can these days.

it's for sure a much smaller pool, but the hit rate for 'cuse has been miles higher than recruits. yes, there have been guys that have been allowed to transfer (no roster limit), but the guys that have been brought in to play, mostly have. they're proven entities.
