2027 Recruiting

im guessing thats a reaction to Fodor to Hopkins.

I read this as a sort of wish-casting, not from someone who has inside information. Could be completely wrong. Hope I’m not.

The third recruit is getting a little strange at this point… there were some guys rumored on here to be committed, but took a while to announce it publicly. Maybe this is just that.

Sweeney.

Expecting 2+ guys from this weekend. Wouldn't panic yet but again gotta start landing some top targets offensively.

Sweeney is projected a defensive middie at the next level, so yes, definitely need some offensive guys.

Fin Kilbourne is someone I can see ending up with the Orange, or Malcolm Richardson who is a BC native from Lawrenceville.

It's funny how this is all over players that won't be on campus for another 2 years while we have a national championship contender gearing up for the upcoming season. D1 lax can be a funny sport.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any program. Yes it won't impact next year but without it we won't have a championship contender for long

No doubt, I just find it interesting how d1 lax has rising juniors courted. That's not exclusive to lax but it's like going through a whole competitive season 2 and a half years before it happens.

It's become like that since they got rid of early recruiting. It can be a bit absurd but what college recruitment isn't these days

Likely to keep an eye on it

I was just scrolling through the recruiting classes going back to 2022, I wasn't on here then but I'm wondering how this program was able to haul in all those 5 stars for the 2022 class given the state of the program at the time.

Yeah I really dont think this class has gone too poorly, its not even been 2 weeks since the cycle started, UNC has pretty much every advantage you could have right now including having a football game to bring recruits to on Sep 1, which no one else did, its not surprising they are doing well. We have a top 10 Player in the class, who is #1 on 1 site. We will get more commits, out of the 5 stars who I thought we would go hard after, we have only lost out on 1 so far (Woods ) (3 if you count the other 5 star goalies, but we didnt really miss on them as much as we just got our preferred option), would I like more commits, yes, but to say the class is "falling apart" is very shortsighted.

additionally about UNC, with roster limits among other things, they likely can get like 2 more recruits in this class before they run out of spots,

Recruiting rankings only get you so far. I've been doing a deep dive on all the recruiting classes going back to 2021. UNC and Duke should have won a national championship in the past 4 years if games were simply played according to recruiting rankings. Plenty of players don't pan out, transfer, get injured, or rot on the vine and/or get poor coaching (cough UNC). You obviously need talent, but there's a lot more that goes into winning. 2027 so far looks like it'll be just fine for the Cuse.
