2027 Recruiting

Speaking about Cross, I am somewhat suprised he hasnt commited yet, every sign pointed to him being an obvious ND commit, but he hasnt yet, still think he ends up there and is not even a thought here, but I am kind of interested in if he ends up elsewhere

Other than Cuse grabbing a few players after this weekend, any other rumors floating around about what might happen this week? Teams who might surprise? Teams that are struggling this year? Some of the big hitters have been "relatively" quiet but unfortunately I imagine that's about to change. Does UNC keep pulling or are they petering out? Any Ivy's about to pop back into the fray now that students have at least explored other options?

NLF said this in their write up of Cross, FWIW.

“Cross’ father, Ray, played at Notre Dame, and the Irish will be a contender. Despite that, everyone’s going to call him, and it doesn’t seem like it’s a lock that he ends up in South Bend.”
 
ah, ok, would love to not have to see him 1 to 2 times per year, so I openly welcome him to go outside of the ACC

Can I ask about the Marachek fascination? I would love every and every all offspring of SU alums to end up on the hill. That said, Marachek is listed as a three star by IL and I don’t see him mentioned much by the other two services.

There are other lefty attackmen/midfielders I think SU should target before focusing on him (to say nothing of the righties they need to bring in). Honest question, I am really not trying to be snarky. Am I missing something? Is it just a name recognition thing?

He actually has some quality looking highlight vids out there, no matter what his name is. Maybe not a guy to build the class around but would absolutely be worth bringing in and should fit well in our offense.

Good player, legacy and someone still just scratching the surface. Woods and Cross and others are the exception at this point not the normal recruit. Marachek has had some positive write ups and is a guy that I think SU would do well to bring in ( we haven't exactly been killing it in the legacy game either) and I do believe there is mutual interest.

I'm not fascinated with him. Others here have mentioned him as a likely member of the class.
 
I do think he would be a good add, simply because by the 2028 season we project to have quite a shortage of attack options (Im sure Anderson, Meyer and Peck will be a fine group, but we cant just have them)

Sorry, wasn’t directing the question directly at you (your post was just the most recent I saw). Just had seen his name pop up a lot recently and was wondering why.

Looks like a fun player. Wonder if his size is what’s holding him back from a higher ranking. The IL guys will get a better look at him since he’s moving to Calvert Hall.

Ben Waechter, which does raise my interest into us possibly getting Jagger Zemachson, as hes been projected to duke for a while but has a lot of potential cuse connections on instagram and I somehow doubt anyone is taking 2 5 Star or High 4 Star LSMs in the same class.

Re: Marachek… not speedy and a little late of a bloomer, BUT every time I see his clips he seems like the type of player that can create something out of nothing. A Colsey-lite if you will. On a college training program with maybe a further sense of determination given who dad was to the program and I think he could bloom into something great (or at least contribute). Just my two cents on it.
