3-3..

Let me help you. Better performance, pick one:

1. a 3 point loss to Georgia, the number 1 team in the country

2. a 40 point win over UCONN

this ain’t the NFL

how well or how bad you’re playing can be deceiving based on who you’re playing

So, are you implying that our 3-3 record is terribly deceiving since 2 of our 3 wins have come against Ohio U and Albany with their combined record being 1-10? Not to mention, that two of our losses came against a team that is win-less in their own conference, and one that hadn't won a game until they played us. Asking for a friend... ;)

You are what your record says you are. All this..."we should be 6-0" talk. I'd like to hear someone explain that to Bill Parcells
Bill Parcells is a HOF coach, but he said a lot of stuff to get reactions or shut people up depending on his mood. "You are what your record says you are," is one of the dumber, overly simplified, and too frequently quoted statements made to the media. It makes a bit more sense in the NFL where the rules exist to even out the talent pool between all franchises. It is much less applicable to college.

The one thing that I respectfully disagree with is the criticism of GS arm; this gets exaggerated greatly IMO. We saw him make some nice throws already, some that were caught and others that were not.
Arm looks strong...it is the accuracy

The thing about 3-3 is we’re fine with it if he does it again and we’re 6-6.

get the bowl
Getting the next 3 is far tougher than first 3. First, all are ACC games. Plus, winning on road in ACC is super tough. You have to win your ACC home games. It is a must. When you start losing home games...Clemson loss would be 0-2...it makes it far more difficult to get to 6 wins.

Fans underestimate winning on road in ACC. The degree of difficulty. All fan bases. They are pretty cavalier. Oh, we should beat these guys. Easy game. Well, if it is so easy, check out teams road records in ACC.

I don't care if it is Duke, GT...whomever you play... it is tough to win conference games on the road in ACC or SEC.

What year would you have fired him?

Unless something miraculous occurs, it should be this year...

I was cautiously hopeful he would turn it around this year and the team is certainly more competitive, but if we are going to compete and win regularly in the ACC, we can't endure the mistakes he continues to make and get W's.

His recent statement about how he did not make any mistakes in the recent games is the last nail in the coffin for me. It's proof-positive we will see similar blunders occur over and over with him at the helm.

I really like Dino as a person and have really hoped he'd grow with the job, but at some point a spade is a spade - and that point is now I am afraid.

So, at the halfway point, the team sits halfway to a bowl and even keel at 3-3. I see a ton of negativity on the board, so wanted to reflect a moment…

- If you’d have told me they’d be 3-3 and each of the losses would be a tight battle down to the wire, at the beginning of the season.. I’d have laughed you out of the room.

- Babers game management has been miserable. That said, the team is outperforming. There were expected to be bumps along the way. Again, can’t fix everything at once.

- GS is two starts in and it’s clear on a college level why Dino started TD the first few games.. this guy is quite possibly the worst throwing QB at that level I’ve ever seen… Yet he’s a beast and a gamer with his legs. Let it ride, but don’t be pissed when the throws cost us a game.

- Just wanted to mention again.. We went 1-11 last season and it was U-G-L-Y. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

- Those saying the buyout is an impediment to firing.. that’s loser mentality. It’s even fiscally irresponsible. An extra 15K fans @ $30/ticket for 2 seasons = >50% of the buyout. The longer this is delayed, the worse this plays out. If the AD is not confident enough that they can replace the HC to right the ship and recover the lost revenue, the issue starts there, not at the HC level.

I would watch even if the games were 3-45 all season long. I’m just happy to again have hope that every week the team is capable of pulling out the victory. Saban’s contract sets the bar for what perfection costs and there’s zero chance Syracuse ever spends that. Don’t lose sight of who we are and what we pay for. Enjoy the darned ride.
Sir, you were wrong on Shrader, enjoy your crow. And to ADJW, thank you for standing your ground and giving Babers the money he needed to right the offense. You, sir, are more of a savant than people give credit.

I don’t know how Saturday will go and don’t honestly care. The same feeling I had over a year ago I feel now. SU can play with anyone in the country and I love that there isn’t a game we are comfortable for, nor feeling like a damn doormat.

I don’t expect to be Alabama, because we don’t have that kind of money. We can’t afford a coach that doesn’t have flaws. Dino has always been the right guy, though he has flaws. Thank the good lord for delivering us a Head Coach that’s worth me digging up an old post to chew crow.

To Clemson… best of luck! Cinderella is coming to town and looks like Paul Bunyan completing 70% of his passes. The glass slipper won’t fit, but if you’re nice, he’ll change your oil for you and fly you to the Reliaquest Bowl. Cheers!

Clearly, Pitt, Notre Dame and Florida State are not their used-to-be this year. We need to beat them when they are down. BC is as bad as they can be. We need at least 4-2.
