I think there are two reasons:

1) This game was that important that it was a win-at-all-costs
2) While I don't think 37 minutes will be the norm, I think coming down the stretch, we are going to be leaning on Fab more and more. Seems like he is building up our interior offense and Fab being in is the crux of that.

For Melo to be able to put in 37 minutes tonight after the week this this team had (3 games in what 6 days?) is incredible. Hats off to him for the work he put in this summer on his conditioning.

Didn't you read the post from last game? Jim knows exactly what he is going to do in every game from here on out, especially with the guards.

We needed a big and Fab played well so he stayed in. He will be back to normal minutes Sunday.
