Clean House

I posted about this exact thing this morning. An ADs job is to continue being AD. Welcome to Corporate America and Capitalism. Yes they will get paid more if they win but they may be fired if they go too far off the reservation. You don’t have to like it but that’s how it is.

Wildhack took his chances on Fran Brown and it worked. He’s crushing it but let’s not forget either we’re 2 OTs and a few bad breaks from 6-6 this year for football and it’s his neck on the chopping block. Brown had never even coached a game as a coordinator.

If Hack gambled on the football and the b-ball head coach and it went to crap he’d be fired. Right now he has on his resume in big bold letters look what I discovered with Fran Brown when no one else knew about him.
Lots of good points here

2 more thoughts, remember when Gmac left and there was an open spot on the staff, and people thought Hopkins was available and should be brought back? That would play really well right now, lol. Fire Autry, interim Hop etc.

JW, is he pouring out a scotch in his office tonight and making the list? You know, the list every AD makes for coaches they desire and lock up in their drawer until it's time to start making calls.

I feel like John never made that list after the Colgate losses.

Totally agree but your job as AD is to hire the best coach for each sport. Not placate to a 77 year old coach who needs to be shown the door. I would have called his bluff if he didn't want to go quietly. Let him complain and make himself look bad like another bitter Bob Knight.
The AD needs to do what's best for the program, JB would eventually understand.
I imagine JB did throw a hissy fit for 12 hours after the Wake Forest loss and it was Julie that probably brought him to his senses to show up to the press conference the next day and put on a good face for everyone.
I wouldn't doubt that the Chancellor was responsible for letting JB hand on, not JW.

didn’t know where to post this. quadir 7/8 from the field 20 pts - 11 ast - 9 rbs - 3 steal - 1TO

will wade let the team choose the starting lineup and they chose to give the rock to quadir.

man oh man. he was good and he didn’t want to leave.
And 6-6 FT.
doesn’t matter who you’re playing. If you can hit shots, you can hit shots.
And we couldn’t hit anything. Especially FT.
Coaching? Maybe. What the hell are these guys doing after their “hellish practice” that someone else posted? Nothing. They don’t care to get better. They are happy to be awful.
Q is getting better.

Honestly Cuse could hire the Colgate HC and I’d be happy. Hire Rick Pitino. Hire Greg McDermott. Hire Luke Murray. Hire ANYONE ELSE outside family
As much as I LOATHE UConn, Murray would be interesting. Would his dad bring us NIL money?

I mean good for Q today but he came into that game averaging 6 pts, 4 rebounds and the 11 assists matched his season total. He only plays 15ish minutes a game.

JB plays a role, no doubt. And when a guy has given everything for 46 years or whatever, I’m not sure I get that worked up over his being given some say in his succession plan.

But the bigger factor here is university politics. The workings of major universities are complicated and extremely political. The AD certainly has sway but I have no doubt that Wildhack’s hands were tied to a large degree.

Dude scores 20 ppg plays hero ball to save us from early season humiliation and was universally crushed on here.

If he was smart enough to transfer he probably goes first round but he came back to Syracuse and his draft prospects tanked.
Don’t think Judah was likely to end up in the first round, particularly a year older. But people who don’t understand how huge Judah was in Nov and December in terms of preventing disaster. I get that no one liked the attitude or defensive effort, but he was indispensable.

Flawed revisionist history to put him in the first year of last years draft on one hand... on the other if you go back and see 2024 Mocks that were made June 2023-Oct 2023 Judah showed up mid to late 1st on pretty much all of them.

He professed his love for us came back and crapped out. Losing Jesse Edwards was a huge blow to him. Is what it is hope he gets a call up from the 76ers not a bad kid and the losers on here who talked to his Grandpa were total morons. Starling really let him down too as the back court sidekick some of those early season performances from JJ were awful.

I can't believe we lost today and couldn't beat an awful ND team.

I think Judah can play at the next level. Just not sure coming back would have led to the first round. NBA loves youth. But maybe it could have worked. Who am I to say. Either way, he was a very talented kid and talent is one thing we are lacking this year.

In the months leading up to last year he was on literally every single mock draft as a first rounder.

Doesn't make him an NBA player obviousily but that was his stock position before his second season for Syracuse... JJ had some atrocious games early Judah had to go hero ball the team dynamics were flawed and yeah his stock went in the toilet.

But May 2023-Oct 2023 every mock on the planet had him first round.

To be fair, Judah couldn’t make a jumper. Red or no Red, that was going hurt his stock significantly. But kid is super talented.

If he was a first round pick he'd be a first round pick. What point guard on any NBA bench is Judah better than?

Appreciate all the takes on here. However, we need Doritos Guy assessment before any conclusion can be made on the season thus far
He's done as far as I'm concerned, remember he liked the "team upgrade", he should stick to snacks.

I mean it does matter. It was D3.

We looked good vs D2 teams
We did? We nearly lost to Lemoyne, who is one notch from D2
And where did the scoring go which we had vs Clarion and Slippery Rock ?

I guess I’m really confused. I keep reading posts saying our big problem is we need a point guard. Then I read posts saying put Moore or Cuffe, neither of whom have ever played point, at the point. Kinda contradictory, no?

I can list at least 10 guys who didn't play PG in HS who were asked to do it here - Jalen Carey, Joe Girard, Gerry McNamara, Frank Howard, Adrian Autry, Mike Gbininje, Kaleb Joseph, Louis McCrosky, Brandon Triche.

But everyone on here says that Q stopped going to class and wasn’t going to be academically eligible. I’ve heard it enough that it seems like gospel to me.
What have you heard?
