I think Thomas Bryant is just the start of the high level talent that will walk away from SU

How do the sanctions have any relevance ?

We can play in the postseason next year and going forward. Or did I miss something.

They weren't.

We already have a top 5 incoming class, and a mcdonalds all american coming back from injury. Bryant might have gone to IU even if these sanctions never happened. We are still in good shape.

Is there any possibility any of the 4 coming in can back out now?

They weren't.

I know the prevailing thoughts seemed to be more and more getting away from home and mom where huge.

I just can't come to grips with that especially since we were seen as the heavy favorites throughout.

Gbinije, Richardson, 5th year Cooney, Roberson and a serviceable freshman big man, not to mention if DCII comes back. Think we're in better shape than last year in all honest. Think Roberson comes out and averages 15 and 9.

Coleman is vital.

I think that we're ok in the near future. We just really really need to recruit a center or two.

All in on Battle and Moyer for 2016. No other scholarships available unless someone leaves (Chinoso?)

Agree. When it is all said and done, it wasn't in his heart to come here, otherwise he would've committed during the early signing period. SU had been recruiting him the longest, so, imo, deep down, he just didn't want to come here.

I haven't been following this very closely, so forgive me.

Why were we considered the favorite? Is it because mom really liked us?

Because he left upstate New York the first chance he got, and I haven't really hard him say anything nice about Syracuse relative to the other potential suitors.

Well, 95-98% of the Top 100 players don't pick Syracuse every single year (depending on how many scholarships we have open), so I guess you are right.

Will these prophesied "4 long awful years" drive you to the point of no longer watching Syracuse Bball/no longer posting on this board? Maybe?! Might not be such an awful four years after all...

They also don't recruit them all either. if you only consider SU offers, they still don't get them all, but it sure would be nice to pick up a few more of the top end ones since we've seen quite a few flameouts each year recently.

No, the long years will start around 2017-2018 season because of the impact of having 3 fewer schollys over the prior couple of seasons.

Can't get them all. Top 5 ranked class coming this year. Sorts odd to be griping about recruiting.

I wouldn't hang my hat on that "Top 5" ranking. I don't think it means much since most of the best players haven't even committed (to UK & Duke) yet.

Well we don't get a ton of high end talent as it is, so I'm not sure anything will change much. we'll still land a McD AA very year to two, but we are unlikely to get any top 10 talents, like usual.
