40,769 attendance

i think 40k was accurate. Ive been to almost every single game since i was 16 and able to drive myself to The Dome. That's 1996 on... ( sadly including the GRob years driving home from Boston for every home game) , and my ability to judge butts in seats is a 6th sense haha. Ive seen every number from 21k to close to sellout against Miami McNabb's last home game. We had 40k.

You drove from Boston for every GRob game? Very impressive. Thanks for supporting the program.

I know for a fact that in recent years they stopped using sales, and starting using actual turnstile counts or ticket scans for attendance. So I for one believe the count, and my eyes agreed.

Facts don't fit the narrative in this conversation! And neither do your eyes!;)

My baby sitter is a student with seasons. Didn’t go Saturday, and left at the half vs FSU. They just don’t care.

Student section MUCH more engaged this year and attendance is up significantly. Student engagement has been a major imperative within the department and the response has been encouraging. And to those who think the issue is that students have to pay $200 for tickets to EVERY football, mens and womens basketball and mens lacrosse game tell me how many season ticket packages have been sold over the last few years and how many students who PAID for tickets actually attended. Giving every student a free ticket and reserving 20,000 seats for the 1800 or so who show up doesn;t really seem like it would help.

There was very little student section. And it was pretty full. Some spilled into the over flow section. A large chunk of the sideline section was student/parents. As to cost, student tixs were $5 the first couple games. They’ve been $20 since. $20 can be a lot to some college kids.

I think people worry too much about attendance. Get yourselves there and let others worry about whether they’re going. That crowd last night was big and it was loud the whole game. Yet people are still complaining.

Yeah, but I saw a lot of empty seats on tv!

I actually called salas office this past week with an idea on how to enhance the teams entry/experience by lowering the lights on their walk from the locker
room as they then enter the dome. Loved the idea and will likely incorporate the idea "when" the new lighting is put in. As it is currently the existing bank of lights take over 20+ minutes to get full up and running so no can do until the renovation.

Some really cool ideas being tossed around when the new LED lighting goes it.

Actual number was not very off. Good to see! Crowd was awesome

So did GRob.

(I’m joking, but I sure felt like it.)

LOL

According to the NCAA he went 1-10 in '05 that was adjusted to 0-10 and 4-8 in '06 that was adjusted to 0-8. He then lost the 1st 3 of 2007.

According to the NCAA, Gerg had a 21 game losing streak.

FUN!

Fans leaving early is hardly a problem limited to SU. For those of you who went to Baton Rouge last year, there were maybe 20K less people in Tiger Stadium in the 4th quarter compared to at kickoff even though the game was competitive. And that's one of the biggest football programs in the country.
