$60m 4year bowl ban

Vacated wins and a loss of 20 scholies and only allowed 15 per year for 4 years.

40 scholarships, I believe - 10 a year for 4 years.

All wins from 1998-2011 vacated. Appears they keep TV rights, though. Wonder if the B1G had a say in that.

I think the Big 10 might have taken that away from them as their own punishment.

Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship Statement

Time and space prevent me from outlining that which you already know - your organization is wholly
without power to sanction the University for the events related to the above. It is beyond comprehension
how the NCAA can possibly believe it has the power to control events that do not violate NCAA rules,
nor how the NCAA can issue punishment without ever even launching an investigation in accordance
with your own rules. However, we can, at this point, agree to disagree on that issue, though you can be
most certain that the issue will be addressed.

It doesn't matter, the parties with authority in the University signed up for it.

I think they're lucky its a 4 year penalty and not a 5.

65 healthy ones. But we started with over 75.
I have a feeling that they will not be loading up with 4 star and 5 star recruits either - at least in the first couple of years of the sanction. In fact, I think they may have a hard time filling their allotment. So, you are going to have a roster of 65 scholarship players who are mainly lower level recruits. I also think they will lose coaches and with that the recruiting connections that have been built up over the years.

Already rumors that a few coaches may look elsewhere, especially after this year since the timing is real bad for this year.

I could see our future OC coming from there.

Seeing the reaction of PSU students while the sanctions were being announced is reason enough to nuke the program forever.

I happen to work with several PSU alums...none of them were surprised by the sanctions today, and they agreed with them.

As usual, the most vocal people "representing" Penn State are the most emotional, ignorant folks in the lot. I think the silent majority of Penn State alums get it, but it doesn't come across that way in the media coverage.
