A great season but next year will be even better

I'm on board with bees. Next year we will have leaders...

I will miss scoop.. I will not miss jojo. Kris joseph disappeared when it mattered most. Sad, but true.

He never adjusted to Dion becoming the star. That was his supposed to be his future. But he stopped playing the way he used to play.

you and a couple others should go find another team to root for or go back and post on syracuse.com.
Glad you said it bees bcuz their rhetoric is getting very tiresome . Only one can win a year and all others are disappointed. We had a great season and great run enjoy what we as SU orange FANS just witnessed and get ready for another great ride next year !!!

Same here. But who's going to bring the swagger/toughness with Scoop and Dion (probably) gone?

I have no problem believing we could be very good next year. But for as much as I thought the talk of needing a go to guy was stupid because we had 3-4, I now firmly believe that in a one and done situation, we will need someone to step forward.
While I know that anything can happen in th eoff season, I just dont see any of our current roster stepping up, although I am hoping it will be MCW

We made history this season, with or without a title.

Nobody can take that away from this squad. If our recruiting stays even close to what we have been getting, we will wina few titles this decade. This program is too good for anything less.

Duke has won championships with less, so you can't say never. Matchups are a big part of it, & tons of luck. This season, we had to face the best teams in each round, while others, like Louisville, lucked their way into the FF.

Anyone who thinks Louisville deserves it more than us is foolish. We have been snakebitten the past few years, & this will change, because it always does. The luck will run inour favor soon...

It's an opinion on a message board, so no it's not ridiculous.

Just because it's an opinion on a message board doesn't mean something can't be ridiculous, outlandish, crazy, etc. It's my opinion on a message board that banking on a final four next year is ridiculous.

We've been playing, recruiting and executing at another level since the 2009-2010 year. I bet MCW, Cooney, CJ, Brandon, Keita, Rak , James etc realize what it takes to make the year special and what it will take in the offseason to prepare. Add Grant and hopefully Noel - there's reason to be excited for the future. The seniors this year all the way back to Wes, Arinze, Andy etc's has helped create a great legacy to continuously improve upon.

Yea, it's always ridiculous to make a feel good positive post. You act like I put a million dollars down on us getting to the F4.

Melo will be ruled ineligible before Midnight Madness is over. :D

Yeah, based on his academic performance this year, it doesn't seem like he should expect to return next year. Still, it would be a loaded team.

I pretty much said we're likely a top-15 team and guaranteeing (AKA betting the bank on) a final four this early is ridiculous. I didn't think my post was that offensive.

I'm not bothering to read this whole thread, I am a lil drunk to dull the PAIN. I am a bit tired of all the big talkers who cant live in the moment and deal with said pain and who are saying next year is guaranteed to be better. I am shocked, because after all the years I have heard that following sports, I wonder if they just recently became fans? Live in the moment, this was a season to be cherished and ended in a bad way... a way that didn't have to be, with or without Fab. OSU had some killer shots at the end that went against the odds. But if anyone wants to take an over/under bet on wins next year vs this, I will stick with this year. Few things are a given in life, including team expectations. What is on paper doesn't always translate to wins.

I’m all in. This was a great season and I like next years team even better than this years’.

Given the circumstances of what has happened this season, it is remarkable how much this team achieved. There are no guarantees in college basketball and that's what makes it so great when you win it all and so disappointing when are not the one team that doesn't end the season with a loss.

I have been a fan of Cuse ball since the 70's, & I learned a long time ago to cherish the great moments, & try to keep a perspective on the bad moments. I am sure many of us for decades have faithfully followed Syracuse into the abyss when we had so many close calls with immortality, only to see it vaporize on a jump shot or against a semi-pro opponent. 2003 has changed my entire outlook on this game, & I refuse to go back & relive the pain. I will enjoy every season just as much as that one, because it brought me so much joy on that spring night. All of the negative emotion that was building up inside of us was released into the deepest pits of HELL that fateful evening, & I will NOT go down there to fish that garbage back out from the slimiest lava lakes flowing in HADES !!!

I can savor this record breaking year without enduring the negative overtures of malcontents who expect us to surpass the legends of UCLA. It may seem like a mere cliche, but to accentuate the positive is truly a man's best friend, especially in darker times.

With that said, I do feel very bad for these boys, many of which had to fight through the last few years of disappointment, without realizing their realistic goal of Championship glory. Sometimes it's better to have lower odds. For us, the fans, we will have many more chances to witness glory, because we don't have a 4 year term limit. For the senior leaders on this team, it's a dream unmet, & for this, I weep...

So you're saying Kris sulked because Dion was getting increased attention? Thanks. That's hilarious. I needed a laugh tonight.

Mantonio, I love the much-needed positive spirit you bring to the board but that is some seriously weird . I'm liking it though but am not quite sure why.

We are the Cuse so we will definately be good next year. But I do have a few concerns. 1st who will be our scorers next year? And I worry if we can get by with only 3 guards. But on a positive note I feel our defence next year could be even better especially if NN comes. Imagine the zone with MCW and Triche up top and Christmas and NN patrolingthe paint. and either Fair or Southerland on the other wing. Oh my goodness that's scary. But who will put up the points? I also feel MCW will be a superstar next year. If we can score the ball with that defence we will be tough to beat. But the guard thing scares me. What if the refs decide to call a game like they did last night and we only have 3 guards. But like I said in the beginning, We are the Cuse so we will definately be very good!

What happens when Melo and Dion are back for another year?

Then, I would really like our chances to win it all, but that's likely not going to happen.

Disappointment Yes , underachievement No, this was a special season. Elite 8 with Fab out at the 11th hour.

Get a clue, please. The point is it was a great season but next years team will be even better. I agree completely. Do you really not follow that?
