Man, i hope the opener next year is a night game against FSU or someone exciting. The dome entrance should be fun.
I'm thinking they will be the LG 85" smart TVs. Those are nice. And fans will be able to stream from their phones to the screens. That will be so cool. I can't wait.
and show it for 1.2 seconds.so can we expect perhaps a 6pt font on the new board for the out of town scores since it will be so much closer to most people on this new board?
Not a lot we didn’t already know and have discussed. The shape of the scoreboard is new and very interesting.
I’m about 98% sure that it will NOT be on a moveable track and will be center hung. Was wondering how they would manage this, now the picture is becoming clearer
How big will it be?
I think we’ve made the decision that it will be equal sides. It’s going to be big.
I don’t want to put the number out. That’s going to be my wow factor.
But it’s huge. It’s huge.
And now SU fans, look up at The Fuccillo 'Huge' video board...
We now can calculate the size of the video board if someone has the dimensions of the basketball layout. Specifically at what yard line do the pullout bleachers end? Let that be x. Then (50-x)*2 = the width (in yards) of the new board.

X = 40
It might be bigger but if it “only” extends to the 40 yard line-ish that’s the general size. I wouldn’t use the Dallas cowboys as the measuring stick though. That’s not apples to apples for viewing distances. Better reference point is be how big the current boards are.Which would make the video board 60 feet across. By comparison, the Cowboys’ video board is 160’ x 72’.
I’m unimpressed.
According to drawings SU has released, the roof itself will be no more than 29 feet higher than the existing roof. When Pete says 80 feet higher, I believe he is referring to the crown truss that will support the new roof.The roof will be 80 feet higher than it is now?!
Wow.
“We’ll be able to darken the arena and do like they do with the Bulls’ pre-game. I think they started it. I can’t wait to, my goal, this is what I dream of at night. I watch what we do all the time. ... When the team comes out for football it would be nice to have the arena dark, orange lights pointed at the tunnel and hitting that smoke. Do you know how cool that will be?”
Envisioning this gave me the goosebumps.

It will be higher on the east and west ends of the Dome. Should be able to see the high points of the truss from a lot of places you could never see the Dome from in the past.
