A lot of ISO and 1:1 by everyone.

Need to move and pass the ball
Yeah, what happened to that? There were times this season when we were all proud of how much our offense had evolved. We were moving/passing/assisting.

Looks like the league eventually recognized buddy had an impact and they could shut us down by attaching to him and pressuring joe.

Two things:
1. 79 points
2. That's what happens when every player on the other team is twice as quick as every player on your team. There was plenty of movement but no passing lanes and no one could get into the lane.

assists/to ratios SU 14/9 . NC 25/10 . ball movement continues to be an issue.

Need to move and pass the ball

it’s not that simple ..you need guards who can penetrate enough to force at least a modicum of help such that your passes result in the recipient being in some position of advantage .. pressure teams like Carolina MUST be driven against or else you’re just passing the ball around till they steal or deflect it .. or you run out of clock

joe, Buddy, Eli, MD all driving or jacking up threes with head down

Don't leave out Goodine. I seem to remember him flailing and falling forward as he tossed a bad miss up on a drive as well.

Like Joe G a lot but if he is off shooting from deep he is a liability. He defense
, rebounding and ability to penetrate in marginal. Would like to see him used like a microwave off the bench. If he his hot give him run, if not sit the bench. Don’t want to see four years of when he If off from 3 we lose. Like fast breaks, dunks, layups and ability to get to the rim...

Make a 3 = Automatic Qualifier for a quick no-pass 30ft Heat Check on next possession?
Great if they go, deflating when no.
Unfortunately, more no than go.
Get the hot hand the ball, but prefer a GOOD shot.

We got into the lane plenty, but no one moved without the ball and our guys just froze when the got into the lane.
The move was the same: dribble to the elbow, pick up dribble, pump fake, pivot, look to pass. Rarely did we dribble to the elbow and go up with the shot right away. It was there because they were disciplined and didn't fall for the pump fake (wish we had guys who could do that). Also, dribble drive is much more effective if the other players are moving, both inside and outside. If your guy leaves you to cut off the drive, you're supposed to find an open spot.
Also maddening, when you get doubled, someone is open, unguarded. Find him and get him the ball.

Yeah the heat check should be after a couple of makes. Two minimum

That looked like exactly it, Joe was woofing after he hit that early jumper. He acts like this is high school basketball. But in this instance he was usually the 10th best player on the floor and the best player was showing him up.

his bad shots are almost always back rim bricks that rebound 20 feet the other way and lead directly to fast break points .. at least if they were close with soft bounces , we could have a chance at a put back

goodine played 7 minutes. he's not why we lost.
I’m surprised they aren’t blaming Edwards for the lost season based on one pass he made to QG

And he neither follows his shot nor rotates back on defense.

Gotta say, for all his intriguing strengths, he's quickly become a maddening player to watch. Basically a much, much less talented version of Jonny Flynn.

On the bright side, freshmen become sophomores. And I have a hunch that he's going to be a junior and senior along the way as well.

He needs to get back to sharing the ball with passes that don't have a degree of difficulty equal to a Thornton Melon dive. How he does that without the ability to beat people off the dribble is his next challenge on the offensive end. I'm not smart enough to know who is responsible for what open shots on D. Seems to me anyone wearing our jersey this year could improve on the Defensive end.
