Didn't love the offensive approach and thought we played right into the hands of the D, but this was a really, really tough draw for SU on Week 1. Hopefully some organizational things get fixed during the week. Nixon is solid and will utilize his weapons.

The D... needs work. They shouldn't take any opponent for granted and I hope they come out angry next week.

My baseline was NCSU/Tenn opener last year. State got destroyed 51-10 and it wasn’t that close. Lots to go off of, I hope ERob dials up some blitzes

Today wasn’t close

The O will be solid, I think the OL will be a strength eventually. That was a good Tennessee D.

The defense has some issues. The DL got manhandled. Was Tenn OL that good, are we that bad, somewhere in between? We'll see. Tackling was suspect, thats being kind. The corners had more bad moments than good. We will see how this all plays out

Tennessee is excellent at getting their hands up along the defensive line. Our OLine run blocked ok today and we showed we can move the ball. This game will really help us moving forward. When you look along the line of scrimmage next week, it’s going to look a lot different.

I think we will be fine offensively...unless Cook is out for a while. Willis is a monster. OL was good running the ball, but can't give up that many sacks.

Defensively we just don't have the dudes to compete at a high level. Tackling was atrocious. Nobody on that side of the ball flashes. I'm more worried about the schedule. Even the "winnable" games like Duke will be extremely tough with their QB and Diaz defense. GT beat a very improved Colorado defense on the road. Our schedule is a meat grinder and I just don't know if our defense will hold up.

We had the ball on 26-38. Maybe it wasn’t close but we had a real chance to get it.
True. It was very frustrating to watch. They were like a cat playing with a mouse. We were never actually in it, even though it seemed like we could come back and win. They toyed with us. While a win wasn’t expected, I wish we had shown a little bit more. I just watched a full game and I still don’t know what we have. Some might be optimistic, but I’m not so sure.

Same here.

Except we have an issue with the D line. They can’t generate any rush. When you have to move a backup tight end to d end, you have issues.
And that's not a coaching issue. The D line looked like an issue coming into the season. We have a ways to go yet to be able to compete with high end teams on defense.

4-8 has always been on the table. 6-6 would be great. 6+ wins would be outstanding. My head says maybe 5-7, but it’s a long season and things happen. Would love to get to 7-5, but I’m still dreaming of 11-1. I honestly hope 4-8 isn’t the result but it’s a real possibility.

I am not sure that giving up 45 points and 500 yards - 246 rushing is anything to be encouraged about.
We did play hard and Tennessee will wake up in the morning knowing they were in a football game.
Agnelli has a ways to go but he did throw for 57% and 274. He has a couple of games to get his bearings but that's it.
So far EROB has been underwhelming and if Nixon is poached away Fran has his job cut our for him.
I don't see any reason to change my 7-5 forecast but I also don't see any reason to improve it either.
