Acc! Acc! Acc!

Oh... you think recruits are going to catch on that Clemson is a good football school?

Which is more likely.

A recruit wants to go to a school that has won multiple championships.

A recruit wants to go to a school to play against a team that wins multiple championships.

There's only so many scholarships and everyone wants to knock off the champs. We're the only school that came close to doing it this year, as the announcers mentioned about six times tonight. That will help us and has already helped us. The competition level in our conference and especially in our division helps us in climbing the hill. No doubt, getting over that last hump will be harder for the same reason.

Ok so here we can both agree

Clemson winning is good for us because if we best them it will help us in the rankings

Clemson winning is a bad for us because it will continue to be harder and harder to beat them because they will keep getting better recruits.

Are you new to college football? Clemson already has the pick of the litter in recruiting. They don't get to have MORE players because they won the national championship.

You could also make the argument that the more Clemson beats Alabama the more likely the Bama fans demand they get him and he leaves Clemson.

It's a logical paradox of sorts because us winning in statement 1 isn't possible without them winning in statement 2.

Yeah really hoping the team in our division keeps winning championships. Should really help our future.
The Rutgers Big East basketball teams say hello.

the ACC has a perception of being a basketball league.

the ACC just won the National Championship in Football...again.

Cuse has the potential to be a fast rising power in this league if things go as expected. if we get solid OL play next year we should be near the top of the standings again. if that OL happens to be the younger guys, then we'll be there a couple years down the road too, when some of the more traditional powers should rise again.

in 3-4 years its very possible that the ACC is considered the 2nd best fball conf and when anyone rattles off the short list of teams why, we are in that mix

how can that possibly be bad? especially for current crop of 8th grade to freshmen recruits

Baby steps...but you're getting there.
The question to ask is; "Can SU become good enough to beat a Natl Champion Clemson at the Dome this year"? I have faith in HCDB that we can...and we will.
Arguably our biggest win in 20 years was the one versus this same Clemson program.
We received multiple shout outs during the CFP, because we were the only team to give them a game this past season.
So, yes...Clemson winning the NC, actually benefits the SU program, financially, competitively, and as a conference. Its not that hard...seriously.

Of course, Clemson winning the championship benefits SU, as well as the rest of the ACC, or does Clemson have like uhhhh a thousand football scholarships on offer...? Top HS players are going to want to play for Clemson, or against them. Simple math.

Ok guess we'll just agree to disagree.

Can't wait to see our recruiting class explode in 2020 cuz Clemson won the championship.

The top teams get whoever they want.

Many recruits that don't get a 'bama/Clemson schollie, still want a chance to play against the best. With the ACC leading in Championships since 2013, that's not a bad thing for the #2 team in the ACC.

Do many recruits pick a P5 team over a G5? Yes. Will some recruits pick a better P5 division? Yes. Will some recruits pick a better team, in a better division? Yes. Not rocket science. Is this good for the ACC? Yes.

serious question. if you had to pick one, do you think Nova winning a couple of titles helped or hurt recruiting in the Big East the past few years?

You're so off-base on your misguided perspective, that its almost a waste of time pointing out the obvious. You just don't get it...and are too stubborn to realize it. SMDH

You strike me as someone whose ego is so delicate you've never been able to say, "Hmm... maybe I was wrong."

No one said recruiting would "explode" but you have to try and argue that because you can't argue against what people are ACTUALLY saying here. And you can't argue that because you don't have a point. YOU know you don't have a point because your first analogy was a Yankees/Red Sox one. (What would that analogy have to do with recruiting?)

Yes, being the only team to give the national champions a game this year is good for SU.

Yes, playing in a strong football conference is good for SU.

Yes, winning (or losing) to the reigning national champions next year is better for SU than winning (or losing) to the runners up.

Clemson's recruiting wouldn't have declined just because they lost the national championship game.

Texas A&M also gave them a tough game early in the season...at A&M. Clemson won 28-26

Lol as if Clemsons recruits could get *better*.

They've already got 4 star athletic freaks warming the bench.

It's good for Syracuse University Football.

It adds to the prestige and profile of our conference.

It draws better athletes to our conference.

It draws better athletes to our program who want to compete against the best.

It makes our annual games with Clemson a national event.

Clemson winning the NC was a great thing for the ACC and a great thing for Syracuse University Football.
