According to a report from the Clemson Rivals site. The ever present "source with knowledge of the situation" is cited as confirming the meeting. No further info is available.

It's obviously 100% factual and definitely means ND is going to come to the ACC for football.... yyeeeaaaahh

Pretty sure it's about the impending deal with the orange bowl.

Is it really necessary to get multiple ACC presidents to travel to UNC to meet about the Orange Bowl?

If there is a meeting, and I seriously doubt there is, I would think they would be discussing more than the OB.

If there was a meeting I tend to agree with Jake that it was probably about the Orange Bowl's pending ACC-ND agreement.

On the other hand, at least one WVU insider has a different interpretation. Saw this on the Scout board:

" Maybe John Swofford just got outsmarted. Maybe Notre Dame is the Trojan Horse pushed into ACC country by the Big XII to destroy the ACC from within. Notre Dame is not going to help anybody except for themselves."

And for weeks the WVU troll army was talking about how a move by ND as a partial member to the B12 would kill the ACC.

okay, we do have something short of confirmation...
again, my source would not confirm nor deny...interesting since he usually is a bit freer with the info. Stand-by as it could be interesting....
there has been and will be a discussion with ND proceeding into tomorrow and maybe Tuesday. It could be discussion on the OB but you would not need presidents to discuss...there is also a potential for a beginning season game with ND...and of course other things...here is a small take on the post...but is more paraphrase...
"A group of ACC presidents is meeting today with Notre Dame, The gathering was to take place in North Carolina, and Clemson president James Barker was expected to be one of presidents at meeting.
But it is known that the ACC has been courting Notre Dame to join the conference. When reached Board of Trustees chairman David Wilkins saind he was not aware of the meeting. He was returning from a trip to Canada. ""I'm not aware of any meetings or contact, but I've been out of the country since July 4th. --kind of lame excuse!

1) insider should be "insider"

2) key word from the "insider" post: "maybe"
meaning: or maybe not

so now the brilliant Big 12 is outsmarting both ND and the ACC:
or maybe not

key word from the "insider": "maybe"

Any kid will tell you that "maybe" usually means "no".

This is all obviously in response to Oklahoma's scheduled meeting with the Big Ten this week.

I used to enjoy expansion talk. But this most recent "Dude" and Notre Dame situation has really drained all the fun out of these discussions.

I'm really tired of this.

I'm more amused by how people will listen to some unknown poster with sources but not another unknown poster with sources based upon whether the post is something they want to hear or believe.

This was just reported as a rumor on the channel 3 morning news. IMHO This is news if it is happening, but a rumor does not make it news.

Well I'd offer to drive into Greensboro to ACC HQ and demand answers but I haven't met my coffee comsumption quota yet.
The timing is intersting as the ACC Media days is scheduled for July 22-23 in GSO. It would make a good time for an announcement.

This is all nonsense. The Big 12 is dead, oh wait, the Big 12 is King and the ACC is dead, oh wait, the ACC is solid and the everybody except the Big 5 conferences are dead. oh wait...ND determines who prospers and who dies, oh wait, this is BS!

The only winners in all of this are Mount Union and Cortland. They remain powers in their conferences and contenders for the Stagg Bowl year after year.

Until Rutgers joins the NJAC. Then look for Cortland to petition for Section IV membership, in which case Vestal and Binghamton had better look out, and you can kiss Horseheads and Elmira goodbye- they'll be relegated to the NNNBE.

But ultimately...San Dimas High School Footbal RULES!!!!

You guys are nuts with all of this stuff, it's like dungeons and dragons for sports geeks. 99% of all of this is nonsense

My "Lord Dude" has special mystical powers and he will cast a spell on your weak ass knight of common sense.

Niko reads these boards and is friends of several of us...makes you go hmmmmmm.

They must've met in a ing huge conference room if they could get all of the ACC and all of Notre Dame in there!

I still don't get what information this NC State source actually provides.

Maybe they're meeting to discuss what to do about all of this nonsense being generated by the WVUDude.
