ACC / B1G / PAC 12 Title Games Thread

Dantonio comes across as a complete jerk. He should take a lesson from his QB, who at least conducted himself with class in the postgame interview.

What did he say? I didn't have any desire to see a MSU celebration so flipped away?

UNC made a game of it then got screwed on a phantom offsides call on the on-side kick

Come on you knew Swofford wouldn't leave anything to chance.

Once again, the ACC refs are cheating to protect Clemson. They did the same against us when we were getting too close. What a joke. This conference is crooked.

The refs are just following orders. Swofford is the crooked one.

Christian McCaffery today broke Barry Sanders' 3250 all purpose yards in a season (1988) record tonight. He had 461 all purpose yards and even threw for a TD. Phenomenal player and only a soph. LEGIT Heisman candidate. That was his second game of the season with over 100 yds rushing and 100 receiving.

Bloodlines. Of course his Dad is Ed but his grandfather was a former world record holder in the 100.

Isn't his dad Ed, the former Denver Broncos WR?

Correct. His dad is Ed, who also went to Stanford. His grandfather is David Sime, former American sprinter. He ranked as one of the fastest humans of all time.

Six MILLION $/14 = 428.6 thousand $ per school (assuming the ACC doesn't take some of it). Clemson gets $2 Million extra for CFB playoff travel expenses. Yes, go Clemson!

You are way off...

Participating conference gets $51 million to split if they have a contract with one of the bowls and the ACC has the contract with the orange.

Non P5 conferences all split $79 million as none of them have contract with the Orange, Rose or Sugar bowls.

Each school gets an additional $300K for meeting APR.

Participating conferences get an additional $6 mil per team that plays in the semifinal games.

Keep in mind that this playoff generates around $470 mil. - it would be a travesty if conferences only got $500K per team, thats only like 28 mil total for 4 participating conferences.

It works out to be more like $4-5 mil per team split evenly.

And to address Atom's post, IIRC, the ACC splits all pooled revenue 15 ways (or 16, with non-FB sports) with the conference itself getting a full share.

SO in addition to the $20 mil that SU gets from the ACC, we get an additional $4-5 mil when an ACC team makes the playoff.

Big cheddar!

Does that mean if multiple teams from one conference make the playoff they could get upwards of $10M?

No, the conference gets the $51 mil for participation but they would get $6 mil per team in the playoff. Two teams gets them $63 mil.

Edit: Apologies I misread your post, thought it said $105M, hence my response above. Then the answer is yes, it is possible with other bowl affiliations as orangenauburn said.

What annoys me is that Stanford gets punished for scheduling Northwestern. If they played patsy u they'd be in the conversation and add to that the PAC plays 9 conference games.

They did not get punished for scheduling Northwestern. They got punished for losing to Northwestern. Big difference, IMO. Would they be in the CFP if they had scheduled a cupcake? Who knows? They may have taken a SOS hit and still failed to make it.

Moral of the story - schedule who you want, but win against who you schedule. And even then, it may not be enough... :noidea:

They played ND and Northwestern OOC plus 9 PAC games. They play a real tough schedule and got punished for it. Yes, they should win that game but if they play patsy u like most do, they're in the conversation. This is why all 5 of the "big" conferences should have a rep in the playoff, especially if that conference was extremely tough or played 9 conference games. I love the fact that schools like Stanford do this as it was much more enjoyable to watch that game than Alabama vs Charleston Southern, Middle Tennessee or Louisiana Monroe.

They need to go to 8 teams so that all 5 conferences are represented as well as a school from the G5.

Yes, they should win that game but if they play patsy u like most do, they're in the conversation. They were in the conversation already, hovering between 7 and 11. Beating NW would have put them squarely on the bubble.

Didnt come across that way accepting his trophy

I'm more interested in what he said. He gave all of the credit to his teammates, with especially effusive praise for his offensive line. Meanwhile Dantonio sounded deranged and classless.
