ACC Football Kickoff July 13-14

Gotta say that I was actually down yesterday as a result of Franklin's comments in particular, but also Dungey made reference to how little attention they were getting, (something about empty tripods) or understanding the pecking order and how respect is hard earned in the ACC. I appreciate they both said it is a motivator, but it is a glaring spotlight on how far we still need to climb with perceptions. I really hope they can use that to motivate themselves and their teammates. I want to see them shock some people and start getting the right attention. I for one am tired of seeing us at the bottom of all these pre-season predictions (this year for hoops too?) I see us as #5 in conference personally. FSU, Clemson, UL, NCState (this year anyway) then us.

Ya know, and i thought the same thing. Wasn't a fan of Franklin's comments, like he is over it, being his 3rd year. Seriously? There are 80 players back in cuse that would kill to make that trip. Give me a break. Going into your senior season and a trip to ACC media days isnt cherished? Thats rough to take. And yes, shame on the media for only following around the big boys of the league regarding the empty tripods. Our coach is a walking sound bite and our qb is an interesting story. Very superficial.

Amen, i was too. REALLY Franklin? Bored? Its work? There are hundreds of kids across the ACC that would kill to be at the ACC media days. You are going into your senior season, gather some perspective, geeeeez...

Which means that he’s going to play. I just don’t know where he’s going to play, but the guy is going to play, he’s going to contribute to our football team. He’s going to travel, he’s going to help us win games and we’re excited about that.”

Really need the OL to step up. Hopefully the guys can stay healthy this season. I was down on McGloster but he started pretty much the entire year and I hope he improved in the offseason. Maybe Servais can be an upgrade at center. Lots to play out!

One solution - having him run a lot of wheel routes out of the backfield on 3rd down. Smoke Mizzell (#4 for us) was really great used that way and did a lot of damage if a LB was forced to cover him one-on-one.

Our offense will be twice as dangerous if the OL stays remotely healthy and builds on experience.

Literally the only reason NC State and Wake are ranked ahead of us, is because they haven't scheduled their OOC like idiots for the past bunch of years. :bang::bang:

Nor for the current one - Wake is stuck w ND this year (couldn't avoid it), but otherwise it's something called Presbyterian, Utah St, and App St.

I'd wager there won't be a hurricane for this year's game vs Wake, so can we please just beat the ever-loving snot outta them, and show people once and for all that:
Syracuse > Wake, at everything, forever.

Presbyterian is a D-1AA team from SC. They're in the Big South conference with Liberty.

I really like the OL. young but deep and talented. Definitely didn't see servais as a center! 6'6" and long with the frame and feet of a tackle, but WHAT a pleasant surprise!

As a player/captain you cant show up at ACC media days and make comments about being bored and over it. These are the best days of his life. Someone should interview him in late December and ask him just how bad were those ACC media days.

I know for me, it wasn't entirely what he said, but also the reality of it. We have no attention, no buzz at this event. That bums me out.
