ACC hoops really is becoming like SEC football

Syracuse is projected 5th place ACC team and we are probably a top 10 team nationally.

ACC is ridliciously deep in hoops for the foreseeable future.

Keeping up that theme, if things break right, this could be our recruiting class:

PG - Quade Green
SG - Brandon Randolph or Lonnie Walker
SF - Jordan Tucker
PF - Mo Bamba
C - Nick Richards

That's a Duke or Kentucky kind of class right there.

This year's team is loaded, but if we could close the deal with this group of kids, that's a team that is a Final Four favorite, when you add them to who remains from this year's team in 2017-18.

Then Boeheim can retire, and boy will Mike have a loaded roster and a huge amount of momentum at his back as he takes over.

I feel like these late recruiting commitments this year have, in a strange way, increased the energy around the program. Usually things are all settled by now, but you have to admit, this was a crazy summer, building this roster.

I hope the energy carries over and we get some dominoes to start falling this weekend. It's starting to get to the serious part of the Fall Commitment period. Spaces are starting to fill up. 40 out of the top 100 have chosen schools. Let's close the deal !!!

I love your optimism, but there is no way the world we land both Richards and Bamba lol.

Give me Quade to start and the right pieces will follow. My ideal trio would be Quade, Hami Diallo and Richards - then the fill the pieces in from there

You never know. Richards and Bamba are 2 different players - one goes 250 and one goes 210. I could see Bamba wanting a body guard like Richards so he didn't have to bang quite so much.

I think Diallo is the guy who's out of reach. Quade plays with Bamba and Randoph. Tucker has seemed pretty into us. I like that group a lot. But we will still have 2 or 3 available roster spots after that. It's gotta be somebody.

they all come and they all gone

Mike will have to totally restock.....and we will be there with the pitchforks after Jimmy rides off to the sunset after back to back (and belly to belly) nattys.

I hear what you say about ACC basketball depth. But to compare it with the universe that SEC football represents is a stretch.
There are people here in the South who think that SEC football is the ONLY sport and couldn't even describe a basketball to you.

Agree that it's like SEC football, but if we finish 5th I'll be disappointed. At worst we have the third best roster in the conference. Not sure why Louisville is getting all this pub, they lost a lot.

Yeah I think we have a better roster than Louisville and North Carolina but they get the pub.
Miami, Virginia Tech, Florida State look really good as well as top 25 teams.
Does that mean ACC basketball has also caught up to ACC MLax?
ACC Lax is just on a whole different level. Too bad we are losing the autobid this year and that could hurt cause the conference to use up 5 of the 10 at-large bids.
