I figure ND will be all in by then...how do you guys feel about inviting the B10 schools to join as associate members? I think it would make for compelling TV and help grow the sport.

It would definitely help grow the sport but frankly, I'm so over helping others program-build. And let's let our soon-to-be Southern overlords (whom I, for one, welcome) get used to having one partial member before we bring in anymore.

The ACC schools will have to give up 2 regular season games to fit in SU and ND. They won't give up 4.

If you invite any as associates, make it Hopkins and Loyola

Wow interesting thought...

UVA
Hop
Cuse
MD
ND
loyola
UNC
Duke

Who would ever get any decent recruits again, but the ACC. That's a murderers row of a schedule!

Isn't Loyola joining a league that has lacrosse?

Yes Hopkins would be awesome... but guys need to think bigger picture. You add Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan as partial members and the ACC could help shape and grow lacrosse. I think the ACC will get an exclusive weekly GOTW on ESPNU the current 6 powerhouses in the ACC...but adding B10 schools broaden the audience and includes three huge flagships. Eventually you could see multiple games televised on ESPN/2/U during the regular season involving all these schools.

As for partial members...this would be most likely temporary as I predict other B10 schools would add a team (Northwestern, Wisconsin, IU) and they would eventually break away. Lacrosse has a few advantages over college baseball (can be played in rain and snow, games last 2 hours so TV programming is predictable, and the game is more popular than the pro version).

Finally, one other side benefit...if the ACC starts talking about this maybe it will finally get 1 or 2 of these schools (VTech, NCSt, WF, FSU,Clemson) off their ass and upgrade.

I understand the program building argument...why does the ACC/Cuse have to help build program build...especially since we are n longer dominant...well I put that on Desko and the fact that this is the natural progression if the sport is to grow.

I understand your argument, but I just don't like the fact that a league that large would not leave room for our (already reduced) traditional opponents. Plus, you need a breather every now and then. As jr said above, "That's a murderers row of a schedule!" And even though it might be good for the sport, it's someone else's turn. :)

I don't see the three B1g Ten schools you list as being ready to play the 6 ACC schools. None of them are top tier programs at the moment and there is no reason to expect them to be in 2015.

As others have already mentioned the ACC schools will already have enough on their platters with the other 5 ACC schools and a probable ACC tmt. UMd has a lot of traditional opponents also.

I don't think that the following for lacrosse at PSU, OSU, and Michigan make them a big plus TV wise.
