ACC needs an SU win

I thought this was a 10 win team from day 1. I also thought the defense would be a lot better than it ended up being. It’s amazing we gave up that many points to BC and lost. Their offense is atrocious. Even Stanford. That was the worst offensive game we had and it was before Meeks started to get more snaps. We still had them 4th and long knowing they were going to Ayomander and we don’t blitz and let him get enough for 1st down. Two tough losses to swallow. The stars don’t align for teams like this all the time. You have to capitalize and we did for the most part.

The D was really disappointing. Particularly the secondary which looked to be pretty deep and talented. When you look back at how the D performed, how terrible special teams were and how inconsistent our run game was, 10-3 is amazing. We threw the ball very well, dominated time of possession and were really clutch at the end of games. Leadership was there with Kyle in particular, as far as player leaders go, Fran obviously did great work as the leader of the program, he got buy in from day 1

it really is a miracle when you look back at how bad defense and special teams were. Luckily, I really think it only cost them the BC game because the offense was that dominant.

Outside of us being the only win, the most satisfying part of the ACC implosion year is that it's the same one FSU finished dead last in immediately after suing to get out because they felt they were being held back by it.

Pretty confident that Duke and VT will lose and Louisville is without their QB and star receiver amongst others. Sooo, that just may happen

And unfortunately the narrative about the ACC will continue next year.
That's why next year's opening game is a necessary win for SU and the conference.
All losses out of conference are bad, even in bowl games.

This board is too obsessed with "narratives"...I couldn't care less about how the rest of the league does in their bowl games or other OOC games. If we continue to win these games, that will be the narrative. If we don't then we deserve whatever comes our way. What Duke, VT or any other ACC team does won't affect the outcome of our games.

This of course is meant "tongue in cheek" but I am amazed the ACC could not muster a win out of NC State or Carolina, they really played down. Miami QB playing for himself and not his teammates did not help but that is the state of college football now.

It's great for us. If we can get a scalp or two next year while building for 2026 were in pole position to be the dominant team in the ACC. Or just be like Clemson or Miami and get the hype/breaks early. BC and VT were both that kind of program/team when they joined and we got left behind.

Amazing place to be where realistically you contend for a playoff spot 3/5 years and 2/5 it's Pinstripe or Fenway.

Big 12 doesn't have top programs the entire conference was virtually even and 16th place prediction won the whole thing. SEC and Big Ten will always be top heavy but but both leagues just were won by first year teams.
