According to twitter: Chandler to announce tomorrow...

I can't see much of a media turnout. I imagine Brent Axe with a microphone standing alone waiting for his decision.

Impossible. Axe is on vacation this week.

I don't know where he is projected but my read of that tweet is he is 100% staying. I read it as he is tweeting it out not a press conference so he knows his audience is basically SU fans so why tease them? It does not seems to be his style. But if he has people in the know telling him he can go and make good money I would beg him to go - just too many chances to get hurt and he seems like such a great guy that I would love to see get paid for playing this game. Still my thought is he has been told if he does well next year he will go significantly higher and he is staying. Either way I can't be disappointed with his decision.

Can someone explain why he would announce a decision to leave at this point? Why wouldn't he wait another month or two? I would think an announcement now gets lost in later player announcements nationwide as the year progresses ... no?

If he has signed with an agent, then maybe an agent is pulling strings and telling him what to do. Who knows.

If he is staying then this is nothing more than a cry for attention. If he is leaving then god bless him and best of luck.

Wow an announcement on twitter, an application where teenagers annouce their every mundane thought and action, that the kid is going to make an annoucement is a "cry for attention". Who knew?

I can't get the image of him being chased down by that Pitt offensive lineman out of my head. The draft board experts won't be able to either.

i honestly could care less-

guy has been way more hype than substance-just like marinovich

one more hole on defense wont matter-too many holes to plug to worry about just one

...let us pray

Injuries play a major role in performance.

Wow. Just wow. Do you watch football games?

best you got?
The fact you compare Jones to Marinovich proves it. Jones was the only DE on our team that could generate a significant pass rush by himself. He was in the backfield a lot at the end of the year and really proved himself. Marinovich rarely generated a pass rush as he was a much better DE against the run as he set the edge for the LB's. His hype is well deserved, if he stays and is healthy all season next year, we'll see sack totals around 15. He is the best player on our defense by far.

It's tough to outrun anyone with on one leg. Good lord some of you all are goddamned oblivious. Jones was playing with one knee and was about 50% out there.

It was a hell of a play to make in the first place, especially with your knee ligaments gaming on by a thread.

Oh and as for Marinovich, you ever herniated several discs? Try taking on 300 pound lineman with numbness and weakness in your extremities, then get back to me.

Am I pissed the way we finished up? Absolutely. Should we have made a bowl game? Yes. However, I see a lot of people making silly assumptions and it's getting tiresome. This team had absolutely nothing left in the tank over the last four games - our starting corners had casts on for christsakes.

Game set match lol

Here is a good question. Why is it 3 straight years now we have finished the season on fumes and nothing left in the tank? Is it just SU or is that true of most teams? Do we do something wrong that doesn't allow for us to finish strong? Do we go TOO hard in practice thus more guys get banged up?

bnoro...why waste your time with this a$$clown? It's impossible to have an honest bebate with someone who simply seeks attention and/or has an IQ slightly above room temperature.

Chan is our biggest recruit on the board right now. He's nothing like Marinovich was.

Two words...quality depth!

Nah. That might be the answer to a different question but not to why we get banged up so much and running on fumes at the end of the year. Everyone is going to practice just as hard no matter what the depth is and starters are still going to play the majority of minutes even with better depth.

I have thought about this same thing and believe it to be our physical practices in the pre-season camp. We have full contact scrimmages and hitting drills. I know these things are important, but it is not High School either. There is a difference between being physical and beating the team up.

Didn't we actually run practices without contact during the 2010 season due to lack of bodies? If I remember correctly, we were way below the 85 scholly limit prior to the injury bug.

Because while other teams are refining their game plans in weeks 9-10-11 and 12 with “thud” practices, our team requires a mid season overhaul with reviews of fundamental tackling and blocking drills…

...the kind of drills reserved for spring ball and preseason practices.

Yep, Twitter is nothing but a cry for attention.
