The two thoughts that keep popping up in my head...
1. It stinks, but shouldn't leave a gaping hole. Great kid, great athlete, but he never combined the consistency and health at the same juncture that would have led to the type of player he could have been. Very bright future and I wish him the best.
2. Can we please... please... for the love of God PLEASE... finally stop with the "oh he's definitely coming back." Haven't we seen enough guys chase the money on the basketball side of things, and enough guys get pissed off on the football side of things (not lumping Chan in with this group), that we should know by now that the only person who can decide such a thing is the kid himself. And even he has no clue until he actually is confronted with the opportunity and has a chance to weigh his options.
