The market is soft right now for apparel deals. SU I bet is hedging they can get more in 3-5 years

Syracuse athletic director John Wildhack held a press conference to discuss the school's new apparel deal with Nike. Fans hoping for new uniforms might be pleased.

This isn't news to anyone who understands how branding works. You can design a series of uniforms/logos, but the one that the client wants is what they get even if it is the worst one.

Yes. Nike likely offered well below our peers dollar wise and a long term deal and SU, knowing the market is soft, negotiated the dollar value up some and the duration down some. Wildhack has played hardball for a long time and I trust his handling the business side of the AD while he allows the coaching staffs to run the show on the field/courts.
