Obviously Hamilton never reached the heights that Boeheim did, but his career trajectory feels a bit similar in how he kind of fizzled out at the end and probably stayed on for 3ish years too long.

Unfortunately for Hamilton one of his best teams of his career was 2019-20 which was cancelled. FSU would have been about a 2 seed in the tourney. They were 26-5 and 16-4 in the ACC that season.

Coach Ham was a good guy. CBB is such a damn mess. It was definitely time for Hamilton to retire but Wild West NIL with no guardrails was part of the cause of Florida State’s four-year downturn after he made them relevant. The whole thing is ruining college sports. Sad times.

Im sure he is as disgusted with the College sports world as the other great coaches that have left these last few years.

That’s what happens when you blow a game to BC. There’s going to be a free for all in the ACC for new coaches next year. Miami, FSU, Virginia and potentially more.

The ACC needs to do what the SEC did 10 years ago and tell the ADs to stop penny-pinching on coaches. I believe Scheyer, Keatts, Capel and Shrewsberry are the only guys making over $3M annually. Red is right at that number but we all know how that's going.
