Adios Leonard Hamilton

It’s amazing the head coaches lost in the ACC in the past few years. It’s hard to know who’s the most senior coach left in the conference.

He's 77 and they're 56-62 over the last four seasons.

Not a huge surprise.
Plus there was this whole deal that may have played a part

Always liked him. Not surprising at all with every other coach leaving.

We probably should have let JB choose when it's time and enjoy watching him outlast these guys.
Others may know differently, but I still think JB would have left in 2017 had the NCAA not taken his wins away. I think he wanted those 1,000 wins on record and was quite pissed at the asshats who vacated them. He said screw them and decided to stay and get them back. Problem was it took much longer than anticipated. The days of winning 25-26 games a season had passed him by.

I think that's part of it.

Also, wanted the opportunity to coach his son, who was a legit top 150-caliber prospect.

Plus, he didn't want to go out not on his own terms [although that eventually happened anyway], with the NCAA having final say [per the original plan]. As soon as he could renege on the deal, he did [to Mike Hopkins's detriment].
