Others may know differently, but I still think JB would have left in 2017 had the NCAA not taken his wins away. I think he wanted those 1,000 wins on record and was quite pissed at the asshats who vacated them. He said screw them and decided to stay and get them back. Problem was it took much longer than anticipated. The days of winning 25-26 games a season had passed him by.Always liked him. Not surprising at all with every other coach leaving.
We probably should have let JB choose when it's time and enjoy watching him outlast these guys.
