With all the recruiting excitement, I started thinking about Spring and Summer for 2019. After all, we have a little time before our bowl game.

We have a young secondary with significant contributors in place and more on the way.
We have a deep, and by most accounts very talented receiving corps, but a lot of it unproven.
The level of competition at practice between these young men can only help to foster both groups' growth. On paper we think we know who should stand out, but as the saying goes, the hardest steel is forged in the hottest fires. I think the practices will be very intense but both sides will be better for it, and of course the team benefits all the way around.
What good is it for Devito or Amie to throw to good receivers against poor coverage? Or, have their confidence shaken because the receivers can't get open against superior coverage?
The D-line will have to get more pressure to not allow the receivers time to get open. The O-line has to stop them from doing just that. A half second could make all the difference. Everything gets ratcheted up a notch as far as level of play, and we have increased preparedness in playing against elite competition. This is what the Alabamas and Clemsons of the world have that we don't. They seldom play against better competition than they see in practice. We haven't had that luxury in a long time. But here we are...on the precipice of something we haven't seen in a generation.

Enjoying the moment, but giddy for what is still to come!

On board with everything you stated.

Young secondary is strong with Cisco and Williams. Some high potential LB's coming in, but may take them a year to make the adjustment. By all accounts, Queeley, Hendrix, and Harris were neck and neck all camp. Sharrod earned his spot with consistency/experience. I have no question that WR/Receiver competition level will remain high.

Robinson/Coleman are fire. That's only going to help with whoever winds up at Tackle. Servais/P.Davis? It'll always come down to the line, with proven ends to step up the competition.

Great to have have high level competition at so many positions. That's big.

You make alot of good points but amazingly we won this year without many questions answered at wr. Harris did and he will get stronger and better. Riley filled a huge gap. That said, butler spit the bit and yes, we have some solid recruits at wr and we will need at least 2 to step up and mature quickly next year.
